By a feat of titanic strength, Brian rises from the ground pushing his assailants away. As they rebalance before resuming the fight, he can see at least double the number of people attacking them than he first believed. Only when drawing the Sword of Ayalos, does he realize that he sees double and his head rings from numerous strikes. A quick look around shows a pile of men and women on top of Katerina, all pushing and stabbing with their weapons. On the other side of the street is Shelly with her back against the wall, surrounded by five people. There is a trail of wonder and dead from where she started to where she is now, a testament to her fighting prowess, but she is covered in blood, and her swings are more defensive now; her sword swings slower. But his sword is out, and he swings wildly at his foes, and they shed bodyparts as the King's sword was designed to do. Brian tries to settle his head and recover and he works with the Kings sword making his way towards Shelly his Covid companion calling out from a roof top when one of the hooligans comes at him to strike. As he cleeves through them he settles into a familiar sort of fighting

Brian works towards Shelly with Speed and aggression in his attacks. He wants to then work with her to go towards Kat

Kat's burst of light forces enough of the assailants to loosen their hold on her, and she works an arm free to draw her sword and then begin to slice up those around her. But more keep coming, and she needs to continue to stab at them. She can see Brian fighting his way towards an injured Shelly, who has been doing a good job in wounding the assailants around her, but she is wounded and faltering.
The Corvid doesn't need to call any of its warnings to Brian as the mob continues a thick press against him. He is wounded but fighting on, the long sword leaving a long trail of blood and severed limbs as he pushes step-by-bloody-step towards Shelly. The crowd has learned that his armour is nigh-invincible so they now are taking aim at his head. The need to protect himself is slowing his advance. Now it is a matter of his being able to assist Shelly before she falls to her foes! In better news, he can see that Katerina is on her feet and is also adept at swordplay.

Getting back to her feet and in a combat stance is good news, but the numbers of people coming is not. She'd hoped that this was a minor mob russled up by Coy, but these numbers seem to indicate otherwise. They didn't seem phased by their fellows loosing limbs and blood to their weapons, which meant that they were lacking a natural survival instinct.
Fighting will be needed obviously in the short term, but they needed something more here to stop them coming. Kat tries to ensure that the minimum opponents can get at her at a time and moves more into a defensive stance. Concerntrating on giving herself a slight glow around her armour and using all her skill at High Compelling into her voice, Kat makes her voice into a command.
"As the messanger of the Gods, you are judged unworthy and tainted. Go home and remain in your houses to contemplate on your sins lest the Gods of Commerce bring retribution!" She projects with all her mental capacity. She had no idea whether they had a God of Commerce, but it was worth a go.

Kat:
It is difficult for her to be fully forcing her compulsion on the crowd while also fighting them; even so, many people stop advancing and stand around confused while the greater mass of foes rushes around them to continue the fight.
Brian:
He continues to march, step by blood-filled step, slaughtering foes by the dozens and taking the occasional knock on his head in return. But he does reach Shelly and finishes off the last few members of the mob around her. Just in time, too, as once the last has fallen, she faints, saying: "Took you long enough...bodyguard."
He has just a moment to act before the mob resumes its attack.
Both:
Just then, the fire-lit overcast skies open up with a great deluge. Rain falls upon the city like a hammer; lightning blasts strike random spots, sometimes starting new fires. A blessing in that it has slowed down the advance of the mob, but a curse in that Shelly is already in rough shape and getting soaked in cold water adds to her mortal peril.
Coy's apartment is a few blocks from this side street. The way from here to there is lined with three and four-story apartment buildings and townhouses, city homes of wealthy families.

Terrific, now I'm going to be soaked too!
Normally, without others with her, Kat would have climbed away across the rooftops well before the mob got to her. Now this was no longer an option, she has little alternative but to fight on and try and press home her Compulsion. Some people say that if you repeat your words and they don't listen, that its pointless. But with a Compulsion its a different thing. Reinforcement is the key to making them stick and she repeats it, though in a shortened form to help her concerntrate on defending.
"Go home!" She repeats as often as she can, adding in as much Compulsion as she can to reinforce her will over the part that Coy has stuck in their minds. She just hopes that her will is stronger and that she can last long enough in the fight.

Kat's ability to compel isn't meant to be used in such a rapid fashion, with nothing more than a brief suggestion to those who meet her eyes but she is having some effect making it easier for her to stab the rest in her area. But it is fatiguing and if the fight continues at this intensity she will be all but spent by the time they fight their way to Coy's apartment.

Ooc: Is there a path to escape with Shelly that seems like I can take her to safety? Do her injuries suggest moving her would be an issue?
If it makes sense tactically he'd pick her up. If it doesnt make tactical/ health sense for her to be moved while fighting and moving he'd take a defensive position in front of her and keep mowing people down.
He's going to kill the mob so long as they try to kill him and ESPECIALLY try to kill shelly.
IF he has an idea of where Coy's Apartment is and that being a point of where to go AND Shelly being safe to move in combat he'd do so. " Do we have a place we are going?" He calls out to Kat as he continues felling dozens of men

"Yes, my information is that the Delambre residence is a few streets away, but we can't keep fighting like this all the way." Kat replies wearily. She stops compelling as she needs to save her strength. If she'd been alone she'd have long ago scuttled up to the rooftops and away, but she could with Lady Shelley and King Brian here. She fights as hard as she can now instead, hoping that as many of them as possible would retain some survival instinct and run away once the bodies start piling up.
Surely there cannot be that many more of them? Just how many could Coy have compelled?

Ok assessment of Shelly's injuries: is it safe to move her? If it is can I move her and fight? If I can I do that and I try to plot a path towards Kat first and then moving with Kat through the weakest part of the mob. If it's not safe to move Shelly then I hold my position. If it's safe to move her but there isnt a path i can see through the mob i at least move Shelly and i towards Kat. If i cant safely move her AND fight i hold position.
Is parcor with me carrying Shelly feasible where we are? Given her current wounds which Brian's been in battles and lead folks in battle so he should have a rudimentary judgement of the type of injuries a person can be moved with.
" If I can move Shelly we can figure a way to fight to the target. Ideally not fight there also works."

Shelly could be lifted and carried a short way but probably not as far as the Delambre residence. Going into the surrounding buildings is an option and it might be the only way to keep her alive without any other ideas.

"I am going to need some assistance seeing Lady Shelly to some medical attention. " Can I do an Edit? If I have her bandaged up can I move her further down the road?

OOC: sent discord messg to Brian but Kat would also realize that fighting in a door way or hallway, while reducing mobility also restricts the number of opponents who can attack to 1 rather than being surrounded by many on the open street.
