The four wear grey and green uniforms with a strange image of an aquatic beast stitched into it. The style and appearance of the people remind her of the goddess Llewella. They give her a friendly welcome and recommend that she sits in the cart's seat while they finish loading the last few boxes. Once done the cart heads out the castle gate and through the city streets, working its way down the mountainside to the port. Kat can see a massive expanse of water with many ships at the docks and sailing in the sea. "Soon now we'll be at the Antelope," one of the women says.

Kat gasps when she sees the massive amount of water. Back at home on Eshara the lakes of water were quite the most dangerous things and no one would ever considered putting floating wooden objects on them. That would be crazy and completely insane to want to try and commit suicide. The lakes of Eshara were affected by the five moons and the water both swirling agreesively and had waterspouts that would shoot up with force at random intervals. Going around such dangerous ground was the only way to get around these dangerous places.
Anetlope? Katerina didn't understand why they were heading towards a mammal, but for now she just nodded and smiled back as the cart wound its way back down through the streets to the floating things that the people of the Gods called ships, all the while staring at the vast expanse of grey-blue when she got a glimpse through the buildings. Close to the town the sea looked calm, but she wondered whether this was a trick, an illusion to entice the unwary.
Unless the green garbed people talk to her, she will ride the nice safe cart in silence until they reach the dock, and then she turns to the friendly woman and gives her thanks to her for taking her to her destination, before jumping down and giving this ship a rigourous visual inspection.

Even though Kat knows nothing of oceans or ships, she can tell that the Antelope, is a wreck. The ship lists to one side, her masts are not perpendicular to the deck, sails hastily stitched together, and signs of wood-rot in places along the gunwale.
The four servants say their goodbyes after delivering their crates to the captain of the ship. He stands on the deck, talking excitedly with another man who stares off into the distance distractedly.

Kat frowns at the state of this ship. Anything that has to go on water in her mind, needs to be solid as a rock and perhaps some sort of magical enchantment on it to stay in one piece. She hopes that perhaps the enchantment is there and she cannot see it. She shifts her cloak such that the mirrors fade and instead reflect a more normal looking brown cloak over her clothes.
"Err hello," She calls up to the man on the deck, "I'm supposed to be meeting the Warrior Goddess Eivor here. Have I come to the right place?"
She does not add that supplimental question in her mind. Tact and diplomacy still at the forefront of her mind here in the land of the Gods. "How does this thing ever get across this massive lake that they call a sea!"

"You have come to the right ship!" the captain says. "I am Captain Barrett, and this fine vessel is the Antelope. You must be Lady Katerina. Welcome aboard! Lady Eivor is below decks in her cabin, and another special guest on this voyage is Prince Calvera, who is standing over there by the railing.
"Let my crew carry your gear down to your cabin."
If it was possible, the ship looks even worse from on the deck.

Gear? She didn't really have anything much. When she decided to walk the Mirror Maze she hadn't considered going on some long trip. She was just going to ask the Gods and Goddesses for help, but somehow that was not how things worked out. She walked unneasily onto the deck, testing her footing on what was essentially a rather dubious looking craft on a suspicious body of water. She nods towards the man who the Captain calls Prince Calvera.
"Oh no Captain Barret I don't really have much except what I have on my body. I travel light you see." It was a slight lie, but she did not want to appear foolish in front of one of the servants of the Gods. "When does this ship start travelling? Is there something that a person needs to hold onto when it is in motion?" The countless things that the lakes would throw up back home went through her mind as she tried to work out how anyone would survive travelling on such a thing as this.

"We leave soon, soon, very soon, my lady, just awaiting a last pair of voyagers to join us, but if they can't get here before the tide, then we will have to leave them behind."
" There will be no need to hold on for most of our cruising; however, if we run into bad weather, you may need to cling on to the mast for dear life! All part of the fun when sailing the great seas of the worlds!"

Fun? Is this what they did for fun here in the realm of the Gods?
"Thank you for the warning Captain. I will keep my eye out for waterspouts and swirling water and will head stright to this mast thing as soon as I see any. Do you think that perhaps you could just point out this mast thing to me please before I join the Goddess Eivor? I'm a bit new to these ship things you see and I don't know all the terminology, or even any of the terminology of a ship." Katerina replies. She might as well get some knowledge of this thing before she joins the Warrior Goddess. After all she didn't want to seem a complete green horn to the Warrior Goddess Eivor, who no doubt was exceptionally proud of this ship thing that was the transport of choice of the Gods.

"Why the masts are these vertical posts here, here, and there which support the -" Barrett's voice trails off as he looks out across the harbour. "Now that's something we don't see every day."
Kat sees the two people stepping up from the sea onto the dry land. The local people panic at the sight and run about screaming of demons and invasions.

"It isn't." Katerina confirms, which is certainly the truth as she has never seen anything like it before in her life. Whether the Captain meant that this was an uncommon sight or something completely new she was unable to tell though.
Katerina stares at the two people emerging from the water without trying to look like she is staring. She is interested in how they can breathe under the water and looks to see if she can see any such apparatus for this. Even the demons back home couldn't breathe under the water and avoided the lakes like the humans did. If there was a way that they could breathe under the water, then perhaps her people could get an advantage.

The two do not carry any devices or apparatus (apperatii?) for breathing underwater, They must use magic or are a type of demon not living in her homeland.
The guards on the shore manage to push through enough of the crowd to form a defensive line on the shore.

Katerina sees the guards on the shore form up and starts to worry that there is to be a battle. It's the business of the Gods though and she knows that she shouldn't interfere, though nontheless she reaches down to put her hand on Tempest's hilt just in case. She finds it strange that a pretty human woman is with a demon, something that she didn't really expect and
Then the Warrior Goddess Eivor ascends the stairwll behind her and she relaxes. Kat had every confidence that the Goddess will sort the invaders out and manage the situation. The the Goddess calls out in a loud booming voice.
"Is this how you greet my royal cousin?Send word to the castle of the arrival of our guest."
Katerina turns to the Warrior Goddess on the deck, the realisation dawning on her.
"Do you mean that this is yet another Goddess? Is that a God with her?" There were so many Gods and Goddesses to keep track of it seemed.

"It is my cousin and her escort," Eivor replies. "The escort is the tall one. I presume sanity will prevail and Princess Llewella will be informed. Please join me in the cabin when you are ready," she says, then retreats to their accommodation.

Not one to disobey the commands of a Goddess, Kat gives a brief friendly sympathetic smile to the other sea borne Goddess and then turns and follows the Warrior Goddess into the bowels of the ship.
She hopes that it will look more solid and safe inside the belly of this beast, but she is alas sadly disappointed by what she sees. She waits on the threshold of the small room that Eivor heads to, waiting to be commanded to go inside.

Eivor gestures her in impatiently and says. "Close the door. I don't suppose we can expect much privacy here, but it will have to do. I brought some books for you to read, since we are going to be on this ship for some time. You'll learn more about Amber and its history."
"Forgive me speaking plainly, but there are some things you should learn. If we are gods and goddesses we are most in the Hellenic style - filled with greed, pride, envy and worse. Calling us gods and goddesses does not help. We are not human, but neither are we deities to be worshipped. We can warp the world around us, we can do things other beings cannot do, but we can die just the same as any human it just usually takes a lot longer."
She sighs. "I know this will be hard for you, but I don't want to paint some illusion that the family will come riding over the hills on white chargers to save your homeland. They won't. I have said I will help and I will, but my Elders are used to giving orders and having them obeyed."
