#s://i~ibb~co/HtyfnC2/despil~png Mandor and Dionisia bid farewell and walk off into a different branch of Mandor Ways. Despil takes Maeve's wrist and leads her in a different direction. He knows This portion of Mandor's domain, and they pass from place to place. As they walk, he taps the inside of her wrist a message in a code they devised as children: watch words. They grew up too fast to develop much of a vocabulary. "Don't worry about Dio. Mandor still has the most impenetrable Ways in Chaos.
"Did you hear that I finally made it through the Logus not so long ago? There were some delays from the war and all the assassinations, and Suhuy had other duties to the king, which slowed down the whole process. Once Jurt's number came up, I knew I wouldn't be waiting long.

"I'm glad that you got your turn for the Logrus and even more happy that you made it. So ..." Maeve hesitates. "... Jurt is younger. You should have gone before him. But that just is my opinion."
"It is good to see you, Despil. I wished I had know that you would take the Logrus I would have been there as good luck token."

#s://i~ibb~co/HtyfnC2/despil~png "Suhuy chooses who and when. Jurt was desperate to learn, and I didn't mind waiting and watching. Not everyone gets to observe the preparations of two brothers with such different dispositions. It would have been better to have had you there. We can still celebrate later by raiding Mandor's wine cellar and making off with the Nightberry bottles."No trust M. he taps.

"Oh yes I remember. Suhuy was not overly happy that my father and grandfather did great part of my initial training. But he was curious if someone who already walked the pattern would make it through the Logrus."
"Raiding the wine cellar sound like a good idea, I have some vintage in minds which are hard to find and I would bet a fortune we will find some of them in your brother's wine cellar."

No trust any M he taps. Then, after a moment, Except self and winks.
"I won't lie to you; I didn't think you'd survive the initiation with the Pattern on you. Merlin did Logrus, then Pattern, and you did the reverse, and it worked out for both of you. That might start a rush of people claiming to be descendants from both sides trying to do the same. I expect many deaths and disasters."
They reach the end of Mandor Ways, make a short few steps of Sawall Ways, and are then in the common area of the Courts of Chaos.
[OOC: I have no idea of what the Courts look like. Corwin only sees a giant mountain floating in space with lights(?) and the filmies. Merlin describes the area outside Thelbane and the Cathedral of the Serpent. As an aside, the real failure of the Merlin books was how 'normal' it made the Courts of Chaos.]
You can describe the place however you like.

Once Corwin described the Courts as a rock with lights floating over the voids. But that is far from the truth.
Like an Escher drawing in 3D, euclidean terms and definitions hold no meaning here in the Courts.
What is far away can be just two steps away and what seem to be so near that you could touch it might require 1000 steps. All is shifting, all is moving, always.
Small pieces of shadows substance drift away from the large main body, circling around it like planets around the sun to eventually melt back into it, like drops in a lava lamp. The main body is not one large rock. Thousand and thousand of isles make up the Courts, some small, some large like the ones where the Cathedral of the Serpents rests or Thelbane. And all of this isles merge and split. On one day the Cathedral rest on one Isle, the next it might be six with the footing of the cathedral spanning over the isles like bridges giving hold to the cathedral.
Bridges connect the moving objects, drawn out to thin lines when the objects drift apart, or compressed when they melt into each other.
Constantly even the substance of shadow changes. Something seems to be made out of wood one moment and the next it is burning stone and then ice.
Buildings, structures and archways dot the isles. Some Houses build great palaces on the isles as entrance to their Ways other prefer the simply and elegant structure of an Archway, like the one behind Maeve. For an outsider this structures might be might be just that, but anybody who has spend time in the Courts knows that those are the well protected entrances to a Way of a House.
"Death will sort out the weak. Both the Logrus and the Pattern are meant to be a test. I knew I was challenging the Reaper when I made my attempt at the Logrus. I did it out of respect for my House. "
Maeve takes a moment to look at the Courts. It never stops to fascinate her. She looks around and then points to the spires of Thelbane in the center, for today resting on two large isles, which are already starting to merge into each other.
"Shall we take some flimsies to reach Thelbane?"

#s://i~ibb~co/HtyfnC2/despil~png "Why not it will save us hiking and it will free us from our guardians for a little while. Mandor and Dara have both required guards to follow me wherever I go. There is too much killing going on these days. They stay mostly hidden so we won't have to worry about them kicking our heels.
"Do you remember how to summon one?"

Maeve hesitates a moment before she speaks her hand still on his. "Forgive me. I was unmindful. Mandor and your mother are right to protect you. Your are the King's brother. Your are one of his heir. You are the heir of your House."
She looks him with an understanding smile. "It is tempting. All this guards; it must feel like someone taking the air for breathing. But I would never forgive myself if something happens to you. I do no want that something happens to you."
She does not want to think about political implication if something happens to him, especial if he is with her when it happens. But most important she does not want that something happens to him.
She watches the Courts before her for another moment, just holding Despil's hand. Then she addresses the unseen guards with a look over her shoulder. "Please arrange for an appropriate transportation."

#s://i~ibb~co/HtyfnC2/despil~png "I think Mandor likes you and trusts your skills. Based on my history, I doubt my mother considers you safe enough to be around me. Later, she will say something about how you can be used to get at me. You know, if you're attacked, I would try to defend you and all those kinds of scenarios overprotective mothers have by the dozens."After Maeve gives the guards a command. "Uh, I don't think it's going to work that way. They are guards, not servants; even worse, they are not under our command.
"Try to call one yourself. Relearning the skill will come in handy later when you are around the important people."

[OOC not sure in the books Merlin kind of 'summons' the flimsies, but it does sound like he is using the Logrus.]
Maeve calls the Logrus and pulls it it up reaching out to call a flimsie to her.
"Yes out of practice. To much time in shadow." She gives a short smile.
"I can not say much when it comes to overprotective mother, I never had the feeling my mother is overprotective."
"Most likely your mother does not like the Amber side of me."
"What do you think, is your brother serious. He indicated that a marriage between the two of us would be advantageous for our houses."
She continues what she is doing with the Logrus.

<OOC> Since Logrus is only available for the privileged few, the Logrus should not be a requirement for summoning Filmies. I wrote a bit about Cody learning to navigate the Courts in one of the Background Threads. It's a matter of waving your arms as though communicating with semaphore.
Maybe there should be Filmie Demons, like traffic cops, crossing guards, dispatchers and toll keepers who control the Filmies. Use semaphore to get their attention and communicate where you want to go.
Or, I suppose, you use Logrus to summon a Filmie Limousin and semaphore for a Filmie Taxi. :-) </OOC>

OOC: Don't be hopping on other threads telling people how to play.
Merlin used the things in HoO & CoC before he had walked the Logrus. Either it was a sorcery thing or a trained skill for the people who dwell there. The details of how it is done don't matter; all that matters are the character interactions.
