"Old friend, something which may lift his spirits." His eyebrows raised slightly,"Ahhh Amber yes the place is a trading hub." He looked to Anna Mae, "You are indeed lucky then. It is always nicer to be with such a flower in inclement weather." He then looked back to Dante, "Are you a merchant ?"

#s://i~ibb~co/qMBZm3j/Anna-Mae~jpg It takes a few minutes, but Ovid does eventually remember who Anna Mae is. Not exactly who she was, but he had seen her during his rare visits to Amber; sometimes, she was out in the city in discussion with all sorts of people, from the highest of lords to the lowest of beggars. Other times at the castle, she looked quite at home, mixing with the high and mighty. Always just brief glimpses, one moment, she is there; the next, she is gone or across the room or on the other side of the street. This is the longest he has ever seen her in one spot.

Dante winces at the question "Oh no, no I'm um...you wouldn't happen to know what an archeological anthropologist is would you? If not suffice it to say I'm a historian on a journey to prove or disprove a theory..." his eyes pass to his sketchbook which Anna Mae still has in her possession before returning to Ovid "who happens to dabble in artistic sketching...And you, what might your profession be since we're on the topic?"

Looking to Anna Mae, "You are a hard woman to actually see for more then a brief moment." he proffered a small smile. Back to Dante, "I actually have, visiting variations of my home I came across archeologists and anthropologists. You study people of different cultures and the past through artifacts and structures correct ?" He looks to see if there might be a different interpretation due to shadow differences. He looks back to Anna Mae, "I would love to see it when she is done. My profession is merchant I provide flowers to the many florists in the Golden Circle and Amber as well as to the occasional private or public celebrations. That take place in these realms."

#s://i~ibb~co/qMBZm3j/Anna-Mae~jpg Anna Mae smiles at Ovid. "Hi-a, O! You're right; I did get around in service to the King. Those days are seemingly done now that I can't get back to Amber."She hands to pad back to Dante. "You should let Ovid take a look," she says. "They are fascinating."

"What are the main impairments to getting to Amber, the storms or is there something else ?" Ovid's look turned a bit more concerned.
He did nod to show interest in looking at the pad.

Dante looks like he is about to object to her recommendation but then sighs as he relents and hands off his pad. Inside of it are sketches of various and strange looking places as well as people, some looking newer than others but if he were at all familiar with Trump he would recognize them as Trump sketches.
"The storm seems to be the biggest problem; no shipping can cut through it and it seems that the king doesn't want anyone to risk it so has ordered all ships to remain docked. And from what Anna Mae explained, it is the only route to Amber from here"

"This is very good artwork; you have captured the people and places almost as if I can see myself there." He says as he studies and flips through the pad of sketches. When he is done he hands the pad back to Dante.
"You may have missed your calling; I think you would make an excellent artist as well as archeologist and anthropologist."
Nodding as he listens to talk of the storm. "I can believe it for ships, I don't have a great desire to litter Rebma or possible reflections. What about smaller passage to Amber, the land routes ?"

"How much do you both have to transport ? Amber is ultimately my destination. I might be able to help you out."

He can't help the grin at her calling him 'D', noone's given his name shorthand like that before...
He chuckles and shakes his head "noo, fortunately my travel clothes are fairly water proof so nothing was ruined by the nastiness out there. Like you Anna, I travel light." His attention then turns back to Ovid, "how exactly would you be able to do so? I thought the sea was unpassable because of the storms and that there was no land route to Amber from here"

He is silent for a few moments. Then takes a long drink. "I am a member of that ever-branching royal tree and unless there is something beyond the storms barring the way." Ovid took another sip of his drink. "Well, I should be able to walk a small group into Amber." He said it quietly since he didn't want a bunch of merchants lining up at their table petitioning.

#s://i~ibb~co/qMBZm3j/Anna-Mae~jpg Any merchants in the bar do not overhear the trio's discussion. Anna Mae collects her bag and a large umbrella and is ready to depart. "Lead on, Ovid. D here is dying to see his dreams transformed into reality."

Dante sighs quietly at her use of melodramatics, but ultimately nods as he repacks his sketchpad back into his pack "While I don't share her...enthusiastic choice of words, I am eager to see concrete proof of the theory of its existence."
