Brennon is a small man, only 5' 4" tall, compact and well-proportioned with dark blond hair and a number of tattoos. He is suntanned and when ashore prefers to wear a tricorne hat with a feather in it, along with a slightly worn blue frock coat. He is known to detest bullies, and stand his ground in situations where most men would sensibly back down or leave. This is most notable when brawny men think they can get away with shoving him around at the bars, haunts, and dives he chooses to frequent. In fact, the presence of such individuals seems to be a requirement for a number of his preferred locales.
The love of his life is his ship, a 90' brig named Celessia. She is a liveship, made of magical wood and possessed of life, movement, and her own free will. Celessia, or at least her figurehead, placed higher than on most ships and with a small walk beneath, is about eight feet from hips to the top of her hair, which is the color of red honey or amber. Her eyes are grey, the same as her beloved Captain's.
As loved as she is, Celessia is the third great love of Brennon's life, the first being his deceased wife Rilma, and the second his daughter Mirelle, who died in childhood as a result of a raid while Brennon was away at sea.
Brennon only takes on the elite of shadow for his crew of buccaneers and freebooters, and is teased that the taller they are, the more likely he is to hire them. This is personified in his first mate Arthos, an elf with enough salt in his veins to be perpetually sun-dried, and who stands a lanky seven feet tall. Brennon claims Arthos is the elf who designed the Celessia, a former master shipwright for the vessels that carry his people to their afterlife. Arthos claims Celessia will carry him when his time comes, but it seemed his fate was not to be as he had first thought.
