Ovid stands before the mirror and uses the compact to get in touch with Princess Lorelei.

Lorelei effectively transfers the link from the compacts to the larger mirrors. She extends her hand through the reflective plane, which now shows her in an underwater scene, and asks, "Ready?" .

Ovid nodded, "I am." he reached out not quite knowing how it worked.
He was dressed if one could call it that in loose pants that went to just below the knee. Even so dressed his black glass like mace hung from a belt loop. Other than that he had a belt pouch for coin and items like the compact given him.
"Your looking well, Princess Lorelei."

Lorelei grips his hand. Were it not for the mirror's frame and the fact that she, beyond its plane, is underwater, Ovid could believe they are standing in the same place despite the known distance.
"And your charm has not diminished since we had tea in the garden there," she replies with a smile. "I see that your change of attire has Rebman sensibilities in mind. I must warn you that some beings panic at the sudden transition to this environment their first time, despite the ease of breathing here. Please exhale deeply. I will pull you through and hold you until your body's initial urge to panic has passed..." When he exhales she does as she said she would... .

Ovid nods, "While I have swum before. I do know that this is different. So I will certainly take your advice." Ovid exhales as instructed and moves through to her. Hoping not to panic.

Lorelei pulls Ovid through the mirror and into a pleasantly distracting embrace, his body and hers pressed together. She holds him until any panic on his part passes, releasing him slowly.
"Welcome to Rebma," she says. .

"Thank you, Princess. I have to admit it is a nicer welcome then one typically gets in Amber." Ovid takes a moment to look around and see things, "It really does look like a reflection here."

Lorelei smiles somewhere between a smirk and I-have-a-secret. "Rebma is that which Amber is not," she says. "The 'reflection' is only a vague mirroring. The castle sits at the center of a bowl with the city rising around it and the 'Grand Avenue' running from the city gate to the castle. If you look closer the architecture is taller, more fragile, more organic in form as if grown instead of built, many have murals of tritons and other sea-life caved into them. The lack of a day-night cycle encourages merchant stalls to be manned at all times, some closed, most open, always shifting what is available in any area over time. Schools of colorful fish swim wherever instead of birds flying overhead, not that there are many birds in Amber... And the people... they are free of much of the neurotic behavior so common among surface-dwellers." The passion in Lorelei's voice mirrors her love of her home. .

Ovid nods listening to Lorelei but clearly in awe of the fish swimming about like birds and the architecture and art.
"Yes, I can see what you are speaking of, It is beautiful." He looked down at his feet. "We seem to be able to walk somehow I thought we would be swimming everywhere while here."
A smile of childlike wonder sat upon his face.

"Swimming inside buildings and in public spaces is generally discouraged - it's too easy to accidently kick someone," she says. "There are establishments that use magic to maintain 'dry-rooms'; most of them are restaurants, some use paper, and so on..." .

"Might, I ask for a tour of your realm, Princess ?"
Ovid walked with her but his head moved from time to time taking in the appearance of fish or movement. Also stopping before particularly beautiful artworks. "I still plan on heading out to gather what seed I can for plants better able to handle such eternal storm conditions. I imagine the bounty of the sea provides for Rebma. Still, how have the storms effected your realm ?"

Lorelei leads Ovid on a general tour, pointing out the embassies of other sea-people who are obviously not Rebman.
"The fish-farms and gardens are mostly unaffected, so there is no danger of starvation, but most of the free-range food is being disrupted, so there will soon be very little in the way of surplus...," Lorelei answers him, a note of concern in her voice. .

Their discussion is interrupted by a messenger relaying a command for Lorelei to return to the castle.

"Duty calls," Lorelei tells Ovid. "If you would like t put in an appearance at the castle I can at least arrange for a guided tour. A presentation to the queen would depend on how busy she is..." 'and what this summons is about', Lorelei thinks to herself. .

"I will travel with you on your mission. It would be nice to meet the queen and see to those formalities. The tour can wait." Ovid smiled a bit looking around at the amazement that was Rebma so alike and so alien at the same time.
"I hope your duty is not too perilous for you. I know how that can be."
