Brian is given directions to the library, and a pair of guards accompany him to the place. Inside it is as Lorelei described: a pocket of air with multitudes of shelves filled with books and scrolls. A couple of teenagers are at one desk, bored and punching each other in their arms for entertainment.

I smile and seek out the head librarian.
My first thing I seek out is information on the shadow storms like we are experiencing....because my prior conversation with Moire gave me a strong impression this has all happened before. It would be the sort of thing some one hopefully wrote something down about.
This in turn will hopefully give me some ideas if the Jewel is the only known way to fix the problem.if some other solution might work....because i dont want to steal away a wife of the king of chaos ( if she is where she is reputed to be).
" I was looking for research materials on Shadow storms...see if we've ever had one this bad before up top." I say to the librarian " and any solutions people have come up with for them."
Second I would look to find books on the more personal mysteries: The sword and armor of Ayalos. Two of the most ancient vestments of the high kings. They've both behaved oddly. And that odd behaviour may be relevant to me unlocking broader mysteries. Unlike the former pursuit I dont need a hard answer....a soft one will do. But why the church couldn't get the armor off is odd. The sword giving me brief thoughts and emotions is odder.
Also....see if my theories about the " peoples under the sea" from the Ayslosian history is true.
" I have some odd artifacts that came into my possession as High King of Ayalos" I describe them and their properties to the head Librarian " I'm looking for information on them. Its fallen out of the Oral Traditions in Ayalos...and that's older then any written history. It would be of interest also to see any written histories you might have on Ayalos "
And lastly i check to see if i can make some sense of how/ who could have made me a saint....that whole church seems quite mad. I'd like to do something to set it right before i leave.
" I was granted Sainthood and well....that's been something of a mystery to me. And finding information on that in the Library of Amber has been unproductive. And the church is going through a radical phase right now....so talking to them is a challenge. I'd like some understanding of how I was sainted." I say to the librarian
" And while the information might be in the Library of Amber it seems to be all lost.. or being hidden. If you have it then I know if it is being lost or hidden away....also if you have biographies on the Children of Oberon....ideally ones with minimal propaganda?"

"Histories are in the third aisle. Do you know what year these storms were supposed to have occurred?
"Can't say that I've ever heard of Ayalos. Try the Shadography section. Aisle ten.
"Church of the Unicorn? Aisle seven.
"Royal biographies? Aisle one. Expect them all to be inaccurate and full of propaganda. Almost as bad as the books on your Church."

I laugh "At least I know to expect those inaccuracies. Sadly I don't know if a storm like this one has occurred before....but I suspect it has. I am trying to piece together a possible solution." I give him a polite nod and go to pull out the books.
Finding the information about the storms is important. If the other three things I seek out don't have any information but I find the information about the storms this all will be worth it.

There is a lot of history to read through. This will take a long time.

There is a lot of history to read through. This will take a long time. If I want to have a chance to find a solution I need SOME kind of information. So I'm giving myself the time....while I can <script src="moz-extension://6f512eb7-29d6-4b74-bb07-8959e17a9989/js/app.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

OOC: Brian could hire some readers. Bring people in from Ayalos to comb through the volumes.

OOC: Or the library could have some researchers I could pay as well. Because arent I too injured to shadow travel? And if I shadow travel I get caught up in whatever shenanigans i find there? I plan to fund some there

OOC: worse than time or shenanigans would be the returning to Rebma and going through the whole royal protocol rigamarole again before he would be allowed back into the library. Still can't do anything with those links.

The librarian can find scribes and sages and other learned Rebmans to employ. What is Brian looking for? It needs to be specific enough that they can filter out the information he needs.

In order of priority #1: Shadow storms He is looking for examples of Shadow Storms on the size and scope of the ones that are currently happening --> Was there any method applied (other than the Jewel of Judgement) to mitigate or reverse them? --> Related to shadow storms any stories of things being "found" or "Recovered during the storms." --> What might have caused this storm #2: Ayalos --> Anything they have records on of the shadow [ if anything] --> The Sword and Armor of the High King: Any evidence he can find on who might have made it. --> I give a rough and vague description of the great Machine of Ayalos. See if I can find evidence of it andWho designed it, and how to build repair. #3 Looking for interesting stories in the Royal family of Amber genealogy to possibly hunt down leads on my family birth story/position

The scribes begin their task. They almost immediately fall into arguing amongst themselves of the validity and interpretation of certain texts. This job will take some time.

The usual things scholars argue about. Can they trust the author or work? Should the tale be taken literally or poetically? How valid is a tale described second or third-hand? If two books describe the same event differently, then which is to be trusted: one, both or neither? Or if the event occurred in shadow, then was it the same event or similar events in different shadows? The usual scholarly arguments.
