"I'm Helgram. I doubt that they would listen to a Helgram not after of the Black Road War. Your brother is the King they should follow his wishes. To much unrest will arise if Hendrake is reduced to a minor House, too many wanting to fill the gap. And Hendrake will do all to get its place back should the loose their status."

"I met her once or twice on social occasions. A Hendrak married to the King would make Hendrake fall in line."
"Gilva is no puppet I do not think she would consider her role to be just to smile and wave and bear some children. Merlin would have all his hands full to keep her out of his business. The best idea in the matter would be like done in some shadow. Make a contract about a young girl of Hendrake, take it in your Household and makes sure that her upbringing and education is fitting the goal." Maeve suggests.

"I am afraid that Merlin is much too sentimental for such a plan. He has long held a fondness for Gilva. However, he is also fond of many other young ladies. We must determine one suitable candidate and ensure the others are set along a different path. A stable and mid-level Hendrake is my preference, so Gilva is out. Maybe we can set her on your cousin Dirk? Or that Cody from Daggerways? He's rumoured to be a man of power and influence."

"If Merlin is too sentimental then you will not find another Hendrake. What are the options from the other Houses? Strike my cousin Eivor from the list. Her loyalties are with her father and Amber."
"Cody son of Deirdre. He is a heretic believing that once the Serpent had a companion named Lilith, that those two begot the Lords of Chaos and that Lilith later became the Unicorn. He is a new Dworkin. He wants to create a power on par with the Logrus and the Pattern. He might be young now. But he should be watched and if any sign arises that he becomes to dangerous, measures should be taken. No, he should not be allowed to marry into one of the Houses be they small or great. A man with such dangerous thoughts should be kept away from any base of power.
"Dirk son of Caine. He run away from a marriage Regent Flora tried to impose on him. There is only one woman for him, Lady Dionisia. Even the Abyss will not be able to separate those two for long. I traveled with both and we were separated."

A function must be prepared where he can meet our selected few and also prevent any of the others from attending. "Glacie Chanicut? Shani Minobee? N'Tendi Barbaran? Who else can you think of?"

"Not Glaice Chanicut if you want Merlin's children to find the way to the restroom on their own." She raise her hands in mocked defense. "Just my opinion but if Gilva is too smart for the job than Glacies is the far opposite. And if she just plays that then this disqualifies her too."
"Malena Gallowglass and Flieur Helibore." She adds to the list. "They where teenagers when I was here the last time. Both should have the right age now."
"Are you waiting that I name the ones from my House? The 3 unmarried ladies from Helgram, my aunt Josta, my cousin Adela and me?"

#s://i~ibb~co/pb5Tjcn/mandor~png "If Glacie is as dull-witted as you believe, then she will be easy to manipulate. For the betterment of Merlin's rule, of course. Merlin's loyalty to the Courts over Amber can be questioned, so in this case, we need someone without any family back on the other side. This rules out you. This also allows us to create rumours about some of the others' parents having dalliances with the Bariman family. "If Hendrake is too proud to wed her off to anyone other than Merlin then we must find someone somewhere else. Which of your Amber cousins would be up for the job?"

"Eric's son Calvera, some think he has ambitions on the Throne of Amber. An for all purpose. Benedict does no wants it. So as Eric's son he has a good claim. And if Gilva is after power then Calvera is a good target for her. Aside that he sports the same hobbies as Hendrakes do, glory in Battle." Maeve replies.

"Fiona mentioned him to me. That would be a good match. They could enjoy killing people together. Shared hobbies and life goals are a necessity in a modern marriage. The Hendrakes may even cast him as the new Boral. Distracting him with a girl from Chaos could also work to keep him off Amber's throne. You should return to Amber and tell Calvera about this powerful, connected, and available woman."
He gives a slight cough and takes a small drink to clear his throat.
"Speaking of available, what do you think of your cousin Despil? He will be the head of House Sawall in the future and the match would be advantageous for all our houses."

"Despil, he is good looking, gentle, charming, cultivated and educated and..." She stops and takes a drink herself. Still a crush, she thinks, and you thought you had been over that.
"As you said a good match to ally a House with House Sawall."

"I assure you, he reciprocates those feelings. Did you hear that he assayed the Logrus while you were away? By a strange coincidence, the man himself is trying to contact me through my card.
Mandor makes contact with Despil and reaches out to grab Maeve's shoulder so she can join the discussion. She sees Des lounging about with Dionisia. He locks eyes with Maeve, then reaches out to put his arm around Dio's shoulders.

Dio almost jumps up.
"Maeve! I've found you! Or you've found me. Eh semantics. How are you?"
Dio smiles big from ear to ear seeing her friend being okey.
"This is Despil. He found me! "

"Dio, it is good to see you and that you are alright." Maeve smiles relieved.
"Despil." The is another smile, looking into Despil's eyes. "It has been some time, to long since we saw us, cousin. I hope live was good to you."
"I'm with your brother Mandor, having a nice breakfast." It is not her to invite. But she looks like she would like it if Dio and her cousin would join.
