Maeve is swallowed by the darkness. Then comes a time of greater darkness.
The first thing she notices is the light; indoor track lighting. Then the pain in her fists. Dozens of cuts, some deep enough to show bone. Blood pours down, joining that from her lacerated feet. The floor is covered in millions of mirror shards, thousands of blood-splattered partial reflections of her all about.
The room is like a fun house (assuming Maeve isn't so serious that she never visited a carnival in shadow). The floor is canted, though she feels it is horizontal. Maybe the ceiling is angled? One wall looks curved though she senses it is flat; the other looks flat, though she senses it is curved. It is a long hall twisting in both directions. The walls are covered in now empty mirror frames.

The universe has a wicked since of humor, no surprise here.
When there is one thing in the Universe Maeve does not like, no the one thing in the universe she hates, it is mirrors. One mirror is fine, two are okay. More then 3 make her fell uncomfortable.
She grew up at a place where mirror were rare, made out of polished bronze or silver. Coming to Rebma there had been hundreds of mirror. It had been fascinating. Learning that mirrors could be used to spy, made her wary but even then it had been okay. She just did not had liked being watched and started to cover mirror in rooms she stayed.
She started hating mirrors when she could not bear seeing herself in a mirror, when she realized she had lost something, when she started to hide feelings and emotions, when she started wearing a mask.
She looks at the mirror shards and feels satisfaction, some mirrors less in the universe.
She feels the pain, she looks again at the shards. There had been times when she had felt nothing aside being lost, pain had been a way to feel at last something. Did she cut herself by purpose. Maybe, it does not matter. Most likely she injured herself ending up her. And somehow that had been just another way to hurt herself. She should have know better then to blinding enter something unknown. Maeve feels a pang of guilt about the two that went in with her, she was responsible that they entered too, and she failed.
She watches a moments while her blood drops and forms little puddles on the floor. She concentrates trying to shift the worst cuts, those going down to her bones, trading off cuts to the bones with several more wounds less sever but not less painful.
She looks around. A Fun house? Walls that pretend to be what they are not. She remember when she had encountered such a place in shadow, At that time it had been fun to see the distorted reflections. People had been laughing, mostly about themselves. And the mirrors had been not made out of glass but had been cheap plastic mirrors, which even added to the fun.
She thinks a moment, plastic mirrors were okay. They never reflect true.
She looks at the empty frames. She wishes she could remember breaking the mirrors.
There had been other with her when she entered the darkness, Dio and Dirk. But nobody is here. Not in the hall.
Time to move. Two directions. She could bring up the Logrus, but she feels so exhausted. Later she will try.
She turns left and makes a small sign at the nearest frame with her blood pointing in the directions she is going.
Slowly she start walking down the hall in the left direction, avoiding to step into a shard, watching her surrounding, trying to remember the differences in the frames.

Marking the walls in handy, she also leaves a trail of bloody footprints as she walks.
The hall doesn't disappoint in its continuing distortion of dimension and perspective. She walks straight even as she sees the walls arc and bend to either side. Ahead she sees an opening side passage. A short man, or maybe he has crouched down, peers out at her showing half a face and one eye. Grey curly hair, bright blue eye. He sees Eivor looking at him, squeeks in surprise, then ducks back behind the wall.

Maeve stops moving. She takes a deep breath, she has the bad feeling that she had went primal, so lot more shape-shifting feels not to be a overly good idea.
She had hoped that she had time for herself, that the bleeding would stop on its own. Maybe one or more mirrors to smash to feel better. But seemingly no. Carefully listening to her body, slowly nudging the cuts to close, the bleeding to stop, ready to stop anytime, knowing that for some time closed cuts are even more painful than bleeding ones.
She did not expected someone else to be here, where ever here was. She looks down on herself, some rags of the clothes left, all in all a bloodied mess. She is sure she would hide too if she would encounter herself right now.
What to say, assuring that she means not harm? Most likely the man had seen her smashing all the mirrors, aside if the man had seen her in her primal form that was something that would send most shadow dweller running in terror.
"Hello there." She pauses. "I'm sorry I scared you. Can you tell me where I am?"
She stays where she is hoping for an answer.

There is no reply from the man. She will probably have to chase him down if she wants to talk to him.

When there is no answers Maeve sighs inwardly. What did she had expected, that it would be easy. Of your course that would have been nice but the universe was not nice.
She makes her way over to the side passage as fast and silent as she can then crouches down and peeks into the side passage.

#s://i~ibb~co/WzVDzjf/1472518622754~jpg It's a nice hallway painted in yellow and sand-coloured swirls, the kind where it is impossible to tell which is the background and which is the swirl. There are also plenty more mirrors to work out her frustrations on. The man is there. Very short, wearing a royal purple coloured suit, boots, and tophat. He is slowly backing away from the corner Maeve's is peeping around. He doesn't seem to have spotted her yet.

Time to get some more orientation and some info if possible. Calling to powers was not on top of the list of things she wanted to do right now, getting a long sleep in a nice bed with feather filled pillow was on the top, followed by smashing those tempting mirrors. But no nice list survives long after you make it.
She reaches out to call the Logrus to her. And if able to do so tries to see what the Logrus can reveal about the place and the man.

Maeve wobbles a bit when the Logrus is brought to her mind. The journey through the blackness has weakened her. Suhuy once warned her of the dangers when one doesn't have the ability to endure the strain involved with manipulating the power.
She sees that she is in Shadow and there is a fading magical glow terminating from the mirror shards. To see the man she would need to reach out with the tendrils (dangerous) or step out to view him through the lens (also dangerous).

Maeve drops the Logrus. Wishing for some time to rest and sleep with a note to herself to refrain from power play till the next rest.
She ponder her next move. She really does no want to run after the man and she doubts that she can or should. But he is her only lead to find out more about this place and a way out of this place.
She pulls back from looking around the corner and concentrates on sound (no shape-shift just plain normal senses) so she will hear the man moving.
"If you are still here. I just want to talk. Do you know a way out of here. I really would like to know where I am, what this place is."
"I do not know what you saw, I can imagine what you saw, but I'm feeling better now."

Maeve sighs. Great. Of Course. More bad things she did.
"Would you mind to tell me what I did. When I'm primal I can not remember, my subconsciousness is in charge."
"And who is THEY."
Maeve looks around at the ground to pick two good sized mirror shard.
She picks them up as quietly as possible and and warps one end of the shards in straps of her torn clothing.
She also makes a makeshift belt and tucks the shards there.
And listens to the answers of the man, of sounds of someone else coming.

#s://i~ibb~co/WzVDzjf/1472518622754~jpg "You did so much damage, unleashed so much entropy. Naturally, I was contacted and asked to intercede. Bringing you here was the most expedient method of stopping your path of destruction. The local family will be less pleased to see what you've done here. They won't be pleased to see me either, so I'll find my own way out. Goodbye!"He begins to tap on the walls and listens to the sound.

Maeve could imagine that the locals might no be please to see her and she was no actually looking forward to see the locals most likely armed to the teeth.
Leaving had just become a priority above sleeping and eating.
She steps around the corner to see what the man is doing and to watch and remember.
"I seem to have forgotten my manners too, even if you already might know my name, I'm Maeve, Lady of Amber, Rebma and Helgram, and you are?"

"Oh, ah, I'm Wollen, by the way."He continues tapping the walls, working faster and faster as the seconds tick by. He notices Maeve watching him work. "The mirrors are the usual way out, but I've had enough of them to last a lifetime. Now I'm trying to find a spot where the shadows are thin."
