Dio is just her happy and relaxed self. Looking around at the place, noticing the people.
She sticks close to her friends.

Dirk gives Maeve and Dio a warm smile. He turns to his crew and says "salvage what we can quickly and let's go forward."

#s://i~ibb~co/RCLVpNY/colwyn~png There are grumblings, mutinous grumblings among the crew when they see the man alive and under guard. He must have been the killer, so why didn't he walk the plank? Why did he get to rest in comfort in the brig while the rest of the crew fought for their lives through the deadly storms? From the walls, they see a world that looks washed out, like a watercolour painting too thin on pigment. A huge ruined stone city lays out before them, mostly overgrown with the orange and green jungle. Three stepped pyramids were once in this place, but now, only one remains whole. The butterflies continue to come and cover everything and everyone. At the centre of the ruin are the remains of a great complex, the palace perhaps. It is shrouded in a grey smudge of haze. They see more still-standing statues of Deirdre and a few of Brand. One that attracts Maeve and Dirk's attention is Deirdre seated with an infant on each arm. Brand stands to her side, slightly behind and rests a hand on her shoulder. Both are dressed in hummingbird-feathered attire. Colwyn's soldiers are amassed below them. Only about two dozen, all dressed in a mix of local and Amber styles. "Welcome to what remains of King Eric's grand army," Colwyn tells them.

Maeve looks fascinated at the statues of Deirdre and Brand and whispers to her friends "Better never ever tell Corwin. And two children."
She turn her attention back to Colwyn. "King Eric's grand army? How do you ended up here?"
"You talked about a finale?"

Dio looks at the ships crew who seem out of sorts. She smiles a comforting smile.
"Sometimes things seem unfair and wrong. But we needed those we can trust up on deck and keep us safe. And those who we can't trust out of the way."
She nods. "I hear you though. You have been through an ordeal."
Then Dio takes time to watch the statues, Deirdre she ahd seen through Cody. Brand she had possibly never seen. ((Depends what she was shown in the convent))
Pointing to the statue of Deirdre she leans to Maeve in a whisper.
"She seems familiar. I know a man whose mother looks like her."

"Cody." Maeve whispers back. "The man behind the woman is Brand, does he look like the man you saw on the mountain?"

Dio nods to the Cody answer.
She then shakes her head. "Hm no that man on the mountaintop looked more like a man who was also at the party in Amber. Uhm Kat was after him. Rinaldo i think. But i couldn't be sure the lighting wasn't ideal on the mountaintop and i was fighting so couldn't take a good long look."

Dirk says "We saw nothing, we say nothing. We need to focus on getting everyone back to the Golden Circle. I wouldn't mind showing up on a different ship and simply ignore the castle."
Dirk chuckles.

Maeve looks a bit too curious at the statues. (Too curious for her own good anyway.)

Maeve waits for Colwyn to answer about the finale and how they ended up here.

#s://i~ibb~co/RCLVpNY/colwyn~png The sailors are not convinced or amused by Dio's explanations. They know the law of the sea, and it is death to those who betray their shipmates! Those who hide and protect betrayers are also to be punished.... Colwyn can't help but notice the tension in the crew. He seems to ignore it for now. "We were brought here by King Eric himself and commanded to hold this place to the last man."He brushes away the monarchs before his face, but they quickly refill the air. "The last battle will be in the next few days. They always come for us when the butterflies return. At first, we were here in our thousands, then hundreds, then dozens, and now just these few you see before you."Brand and Deirdre look happy in the carving, much happier than either of them is described in the stories she's heard. If Brand were wearing a cardigan and holding a pipe in his free hand, they'd look like an advertisement of a suburban family on a 50's billboard.

"And who is attacking?"
She looks at the statues again. "Do you know where Princess Deidre and Prince Brand went and what happened to the children."

Sensing her words did not fall right to the sailors, Dio drops the issue she inclines her head out of respect and steps away from the sailors and more to the side of Maeve and Dirk.
"During what war or attacks had King Eric send you here to defend?"

No one is getting left behind right now. We need to keep our eyes forward and prepare for the possible conflict ahead.
