Brian was on his Journey to Kolvir. The Road he has taken is neither royal nor particularly golden. He ended up in a landscape....well a cityscape. He needed to get to another cityscape. Up a winding mountain road. Between the cities were barren wastelands. Not the sort of places to walk through.....especially not when your wanting to get to your destination quickly.
In this world those who raced between the cities had valuable skills. Brian could get a car of course. Learn to drive....all of that would take time. And he had better things to do.
And so he went to the bay of one of the racers. He had a bouquet made of Weeping Willows and Black Roses.The other drivers said that only one person was crazy enough to make the run to K city on such short notice as this was Ovid.
They told him Ovid had a thing for flowers. Luckily his dear sweet "Annie" had given him these flowers to start his journey with.
Hal, the White Raven, looked over to Brian. "You know you could just rest and try another way."
I look back at the bird before I knock on the bay of the Racer " Sure....but this is faster."
The bird shakes his head at that. "Hey thats why she sent me to keep an eye on you."

Ovid was checking over his racer making sure everything was tight and running well. He was leaned over the engine when he heard someone knocking on the bay door. He grabbed a towel to wipe his hands off and went to the door. He tugged on the chain to open the door. Slowly revealing the person who had come by. He looked the person up and down. He was dressed in overalls that were resistant to stains they were somewhat shimmery and in his colors of black primarily with red flames around the cuffs and ankles. A silver bird on the back. His long hair was braided back and still it hung long. His violet eyes finally met the man. "Nice roses, and willows, you pique my interest come on in. He motioned to some clean chairs off to the side and waited for you to sit then took a seat himself. "So, what brings you my way ?"  |

I look the racer over for a moment sizing him up. I'm tall, broad of shoulders, and with a large red mohawk. My vestments look like a suit so I'm probably a tad strange.
" I was told by people in the street race circuit my fastest way to get to K city is by car....and I'm on a schedule. Getting a car and learning the particulars of your roads here isnt something I had time for. I'd probably not need a driver but a stray bullet killed my horse."

There was a soft grunt...
"Street violence is a problem here. Though a horse is not a common mode of travel." He leaned his head slightly to the left regarding the man. "Name's Ovid, though I think you know that." His head slightly nods to your bouquet.
"K city, you have business there." He said it like it wasn't a question. His eyes looking over the suit.
"I might be able to get you there, you have a name?"

" Brian. Brian Kane." I point to the White Raven on my shoulder. " And this is Hal. Prince among Covids."
I smile " But to you point....I got lost. I have reason to suspect I'll finger my bearings in K city."
The Raven tugs at a newspaper clipping. It's about a museum opening....ancient tapestries and the like

He nodded at Brian's introduction then looked to the raven, "Your highness." There was a bemused smile on his face.
Then Ovid looked back to Brain, "Yeah, K city is a big hub you should definitely be able to find your way there."
He looks to the clipping, "Tapestries, keep a place warm." Ovid then said, "You read about the race to K city ?
Should have been in the same paper."

"You look both like a business magnate and someone who can handle themselves. I can respect that. If you read about the race, you know it is a dangerous one. People sometimes die and people definitely get injured. My competition isn't above sending someone to end my chances. You and your small friend, swear you only want to get to K city, and won't try to harm my car or me and you will have yourself a ride. Plus, I will get to see if you're swear is worth its weight. Also, I would like some good seed of the roses there. When you get the chance."

" Close as I can find in my wife's Garden. But I'm sure I've had worse people try to kill me then road racers....and I will likely have worse trying to kill me." I smirk "So are weapons while driving according to Hoyle?"

"Yeah, weapons are standard. Some racers even prefer weaponry to speed. Heavy chassis vehicles though they usually like to fight it out more then race anyway." Ovid waited looking to Brian, "So you want that ride ?" He leaned back resting his hand on the nearby table. His look was one of patient waiting.
Though he was poised in case he needed to defend himself.

Nor do I have reason to believe I should know of anything that would wish to use me to Harm you....as we just met. I swear on my word of hor as a Fianna of Ayalos and as a freedman. " The Raven looks at Ovid "My Queen assigned me to make sure he stays alive. Blowing you up would mess that up."
I smile at Ovid "Once the deed is done I will pay you back with seeds from my Wife's garden....provided you don't as to many questions about her preferred choice of fertilizer."

Ovid them smiles and extends his hand. "That is all I was waiting for; come I will show you the weapon systems. That will allow me to focus on the driving." He inclined his head towards the car. Proud of the vehicle he went through the weapons available. A lot were showy and did light damage since many of the weapons were for showy races not for body counts. There were oil slicks, smoke screens, shrapnel canons with slight turrets that allowed an arc of fire, Barbed caltrops, a heavy energy canon for dealing with the real nasty heavily armored competition. There are a few other things, but I will handle them from the drivers side."
Ovid glanced to the raven, "Ah he speaks, much respect to you." he bowed his head to Hal.

I am giddy for a moment....only just a moment. I regain my composure and nod to him. "Well everyone said you were the best."
Hal bows and turns to Brian "I told you a talking Raven isn't that extravagant to travelers."

Ovid noted the giddiness of the man acknowledging this with a subtle smile.
He then nodded, "Spirit animals are not new to me, though this place is far from where one would expect one."
Ovid reevaluated the pair. A much sharper look for any materials that looked from outside this shadow.

The Suit is a 'Classic' the sort of Anachronism that always lingers on the edge of style. His Jewelry seems to have a sort of ancient profile. Which definitely doesn't fit the profile of this shadow. You do notice the sword attached to his suit. Its less of the elegant sort blade that's common here.
Hal turns to Ovid "I mean....My queen has lots of talking birds."
