As to who the best NPC is that may be a matter of opinion. My vote is for the Motius twins, even though they are not really plot relevant.

The M.T.s are very relevant, but my vote is for Tak or Fiona. I like Fi's snootiness.

I was hoping that with the Maze being shattered that Tak was gone (obviously I'll never be that lucky).

Best NPC?
* That would be Tug. He's the least 1 or even 2 dimensional supporting character. His driving force is still a mystery.
* Calvera - Elder wannabe on overdrive... without the redeeming charm... (A very 'The King and I' vibe...)
* Edmund (Eivor's brother) - A one (sour-)note wonder with an unfamiliar power.
* Dorian - Coming across, so far, as having a HUGE chip on his shoulder. His mission is more important than getting his (supposed) loved-ones to stop placing themselves in danger trying to rescue him.
* Bleys - Need to see more of him to really decide...
* Fiona - Spot on...
* Flora - Either 'charming aristocrat' or ' "Dammit I'm right (ignore the facts)", commence social bludgeoning '...
* the others haven't really made much of an impression...

I like the Motius Twins. They have a way of pushing things this way and that without seeming to steamroll the players.
Helpful but not too helpful is a great quality in NPCs. Also they are memorable.
Tug is catching up to them though the more Xu interacts with him.

What about Pinky? She is annoying but that is part of her charm, a great NPC.

Npc's from Dio her perspective:
*Dalt... he died saving her 🥲
*Bleys suave as expected.
*Pinky just a sweetheart to make sure Dio was included in playing a board game!
*Sand is getting there to she saved Dio pulled her together but wonder what her motives are.

*Sister of enforced repentance i'm afraid she might return with a vengeance....
