Dante chuckles "fair enough, I suppose it depends upon the person or scenario, if one wishes to blend in or to stand out."
Indeed it does take a bit, though fortunately the weather has no affect on the atmosphere of this room, making it feel pleasant.
"so, you said that most on the Amber side of the Multiverse are not shapeshifters...does that mean on that side of the Multiverse, things, realities and rules are far more stable?"

"Amber represents Order, on Amber side everthing is a bit more ordered yes, with Amber the center of Order in a certain sense. Going from Amber towards the Courst the influence of Order degrees and the influence of Chaos grows. There are shadows where Order and Chaos balances out. You notice when you come near to the Courts, the worlds go wild and you notice when you come nearere to Amber, everthing becomes more unchangable."
Maeve explains. "If the Broken Pattern has left an imprint on you, you will notice these changes."

"Fascinating. I hadn't considered the idea that such concepts would have such an effect on the multiverse. And yet, it makes sense. Two polar opposite concepts, very easily misconstrued as the concepts of good and evil, as good often is attributed to order and evil as chaos. The cultural research possibilities alone just further adds to my desire to go there." His comm unit then beeps and he checks it and he sighs "evening is rolling in, the temps are gonna be dangerous low pretty soon. I'm afraid that we'll need to spend the night here if we don't leave now. Too dangerous to head back to the city during the night"

"Good and evil are concepts, changing from place to place. At one place, leaving behind the old and sick so the next generation has a chance to live is considered good at and other place it is considered evil. Good and evil has nothing to do with Order and Chaos. I find it strange that people make the connection of order good and chaos evil. With to much order all wil become static no change at all, no thought that things can or should be different and that can be, excuse the wording, very evil."
Maeve nods. "Lets stay here. I think I would like to take a look from the Tower when the moon have risen. Moonshine and ice lanscapes make great views."

"Hm, a valid point, the concepts of Good and Evil are so often dictated by the edicts of societal norms and customs...which can be so dramatically different depending on where you go. As a matter of fact, in one of the worlds of the Nexus, there is an entire race of people who believe it is evil to wear shoes on a certain day of the week, because it is a sacred day, as an example. Which has led to an outright holy war against another culture that lasted decades due to the fact that the other species had to wear full body encounter suits in order to survive on other worlds at all and thus were viewed as evil monsters to be purged..." Dante shakes his head and sighs wearily at the recollection.
He nods "very well, the interior is well protected and we haven't had anything remotely hostile here in some time. Hm, I hadn't taken in that view before. Glad that it's a first I'll be able to share with good company" he says pleasantly and offers to guide her to the tower for such a view.

Maeve follows Dante up to the top of the Towers out into the moonlight watching the nightsky and how the moon cast its light on the ice and snow surrounding the castel, how it illuminates the crystal that builds the castel.

Indeed she would see a radiant shimmering collage of colors cascading across the snow covered fields and plains below, the shimmering of the settlement's defense field a distant light in the distance far below the castle.
Dante resumes his writings as she admires the view, as he does so he will ask "Can you tell me more about Amber? Or the Courts?"

Maeve leans on the tower parapet and closes her eyes.
"The Courts of Chaos. It is hard to describe a non-euklidean place in euklidian words. A place that is not restricted to 3 dimensions, where time does no flow consistent.
The heart of the Courts is at the Abyss and over the Abyss, and both of it and none of it at the same time, or just one of it. Isle made out of shadow drift in and out, over the Abyss, away and back.
Some Isle connected by pathway and bridges. Some isle so tiny, so you barely can stand on them, some so large that it would take ages to cross them and holding several continent in them, but then at the blink of an eye you cross them nevertheless.
There is a huge plaza, the Plaza at the End of the World. It opens up to the Abyss at one End or is it one Side. The the Cathedral of the Serpernt is located at the plaze and castle Thelbane, where the King of Chaos rules from. Most of the Houses have Gates or entrypoint at the plaza, connecting their Ways to it.
There is a city, looking it at too long can drive you mad or you become a genius.
The Way itself, part building, part shadow, part path, woven together, connected, linked.
The veils between some shadows so thin that you can look through them.
And then there is the Abyss always present always calling. Creation and destruction at the same time. Watching the Abyss humbles you and at the same time makes a Lord or Lady of Chaos wanting to be able to control it."

Maeve pauses for a moment her eyes still closed.
"Amber.
The land way is through the forest of Arden, it reaches out into shadow. Old and green.
The Valley of Garnath with the river Oisen begin at the edges of Arden and leads down to sea.
A Mountain range that swings up to its highest peak Kolvir.
The city of Amber sprawling at the side of Kolvir, above the city, at the flank of Kolvir is Castle Amber. Towers and walls.
Down to the sea to the port of Amber and out of the See the tall Lighthouse of Cabra, which calls home the sons and daughters of Amber.
And in the bay lies the sparkling underwater city of Rebma.
When the night sky is clear and the moon shines, high above Kolvir appears Tir-na Nog'th, city of Dreams and Omens.
And when you have been there, to Amber. You feel that she is different than shadow. That she is more."

Dante remains quiet as she goes into these descriptions with such vivid detail. Even he cannot hope to sketch as quickly as she describes, but he does write key words so as to recall the details for sketches later...
He can almost feel the emotion that she puts into these places, as though she were not only speaking from memory but from what she felt of these places. It both intrigued him, and it humbled him.
When she finishes, only then does he speak, "You've an orators gift of description; to convey such vivid description, it's a gift I've seen all too seldom. Both places sound both terrifying and beautiful in their own way. If you don't mind my asking, from how you describe them, have you a love for one place over another?"

Maeve thinks for a long moment. "I can not tell, both places are a part of me. I did not grew up in on of them. So I have no childhood attachments to one of them."
"I love both of them, I learend to love them as adult. And should I be asked to choose, I do no know what I would do."
