Was just thinking about age and aging in the Amber setting.
Some things we know:
1) Amber citizens, not of the royal bloodline, age but apparently very slowly. For example, Dik (the castle servant) is very old, but has been working in the castle for longer then anyone currently alive can remember. Some of the Lords and Ladies have apparently been around for a long, long time but aren't immortal. They do grow old and apparently die of old age eventually. Which is why they can talk of their grandfathers and great grandfathers, etc...
So from this we can infer that being in close proximity to the first reflection of the true pattern slows down the aging process, most likely do to the fact that it is trying to keep everything stable and unchanging, but can't quite stop the aging process completely. Longer time, spent closer to the Pattern will slow the aging down more (like Dik who lives and works in the castle directly above the Pattern) while just living in the same "shadow", like the Lord's and Ladies (and other citizens), slows aging down but not as much.
2) Those of the royal bloodline do age for a time, but at some point stop aging. I am guessing that this happens when they first walk the Pattern. At that point they become immortal, but are locked into whatever age they are/were at the time of walking it.
Thus, Random always looked like he was young, in his later 20's or early 30's, because that is the age he was when he walked it. But others looked older, because they were older when they walked the pattern for the first time.
3) Apparently walking the Logrus does not have the same effect. For example Oberon and Dworkin aged a lot since they first walked the Logrus, with Dworkin probably only becoming immortal when he first created the Pattern and Oberon only after walking it the first time.
That is why they look much older then the other Amberites, because they were much older when the pattern was first created.
4) This means that walking the Logrus doesn't prevent aging and all the Courts of Chaos lords and ladies still do age, maybe slower due to their shapeshifting abilities (for those who have that power), but still will age (For example Suhuy is very old and looks it, even if he is super powerful in Logrus and other powers, including Shapeshift) and eventually die of old age (maybe once their shapeshifting abilities slow down and/or stop working).
So, from this we have two take aways:
First, walk the Pattern at the age you want to be seen and appear as for the rest of existence (so not too young or to old. Maybe mid-30's would be best?)
Second, a possible way of killing off a pesky Chaos Lord or Lady would be to trap them in a fast time shadow so they age hundreds or thousands of years with only minutes passing in "Amber" time.
