Galleries filled with row upon row of bookshelves all stuffed full of volumes in an unknown script. A few of the spines are written in a language almost Thari, and Dio is sure she could translate them with time, though the knowledge from this backward shadow would be of little use. The shelves do give way to display cases of sculptures and devices in certain areas, but these too look to be of little use.
Her path leads up staircases and through the many floors and sublevels of the building all with no sign of Vada or her minions until...

Curiously walking past the books. Then seeing the floors going up and down she seems slightly annoyed. But a breath to calm. Remembering that this still is better then day ij and out cleaning the convent floors of that acidic blood.
Since no man seems to be around she has her hands on her daggers. Having to believe her rescuer this woman needs to die right away. Dio is if anything dutiful and obidient.
She works herself through the levels of the building. She will at least look over each floor before reporting back the woman might have already gone.

It is on one of the higher floors that she comes to a small side room where it sits. A demon, it must be, although not of a sort Dio had ever seen before; a creature of scale, smoke, and ooze perched upon a stool, reading glasses on for each of its three eyes, a small volume in hand, more books scattered across the table where it sits.
It tilts its head to peer over the lenses at Dio.
"Are you one of the ones searching for Lady Vada?"

Dionisia regards the demon and then slowly looks about the area to see if more are present or not. Her gaze then slowly returns to the demon.
She gives a firm slow nod "Yes i am, where can i find her? It is of great importance and urgency i find her."
Dio tries to stay as suspicious and alert of her surroundings as she can be.

"Where she is now I couldn't say. But she was here a little while ago. Summoned me to entertain anyone who was on her trail. Care to join me in the reading of these little tomes?"

Clearly slightly annoyed she shakes her head.
"How long ago is a little while? And no i do not have tume to read tomes. "
Before really getting an answer Dio starts to walk passed the demon to check the resg of the floor. Looking up to see how many floors are still there.
It is ofcourse a demon and could be very specific that Vada is not here with the demon. But could still be in the building

"No windows. No way to see how the sky turns," the demon says with a shrug.
It takes its glasses off, places them on the table, tidies up the books, then places them in a neat stack.
"If 'no' to a mutually shared experience in reading these books, maybe you have time for some philosophical debate? On the nature of Amber and the Abyss? I do spend so much time being summoned then confined that I have had opportunity to do some deep thinking on how the universe operates."

Dionisia looks slightly annoyed but with her years in service if the convent she knows how to hold her tone neutral and her face like a mask.
"You say you are obly summoned for things like these, then you must understand i have to fulfill my duty. For which i have been summoned."
Walking back to the staircase she looks at the demon in passing.
"With time i would not mind a good debate. But time i do not have. I cannot be send back. Go back to your reading."
Dionisia wants to move up the stairs to the other floors. When she turns she does keep her senses alert in case the demon would change tactics to physical attack.

Even alert as she is, the speed of the demon surprises her. A whip-like arm reaches out, grabbing her ankle and throws her to the ground.
"I am sorry; this is the part of the job I enjoy the least. I do wish we could have delayed all this unpleasantness with a discussion."
She sees that it holds two weapons to match her knives: a long shinbone of some extinct beast in one hand and a brass lamp in the other. Its third arm is coiled and ready to strike at her again.

Landing with a groan, Dio quickly calls up the Logrus in a defensive way holding it between her and the demon. She would at least be able to get up and hold her daggers ready.
"Yes, least enjoyable part, return to your books then."
Dio tries to move where she can face the demon but hopefully find somethig to protect her back. Wall, bookcase something like that.

[OOC: Bringing the Logrus to mind takes time. If the demon continues to attack, then Dio will be defenceless while concentrating, and if she is hit, will have to start over again.]

((OOC then a change of action))
Dio moves cautiously back to the staircase wanting the stairs in her back. She then remembers the gun she had recieved from her summoner. SHe grabs the gun and aims, assuming she got the basic principles explainedt o her to pull the trigger she will do so.
Ready for the demon. If he storms her with his melee weapons she willt ry and force him partially down the stairs by doding his attack.

The gun goes off with a deafeningly loud crack! crack! crack! in the enclosed space. Bullets bounce off the creature causing no observable harm. One ricochetted bullet slams through a glass display case adding to the noise, a second pierce a thick grimoire, and a fouls neon green glow begins emanating from it.
The demon doesn't fall for the ruse of the stairs but swings the bone club and smashes the gun in Dio's hand.
"As much as I would prefer to spend my time here reading the imperatives of this summoning and binding preclude such peaceful pursuits," the demon says.

Annoyed by the loud sound she stands ready for the demon, to bad he doesn't fall for the ruse, it was a long shot.
Hoping the sound gave the people outside a clear sign something is going on inside. She decides to buy a bit more time. With blades in her hands she engages the demon. Her main aim will be to dodge his blows. And keep an arms distance to the demon. WHen she sees an opening she will ofcourse go for it.
(If possible she will try and shift during the fight to gain advantages over the demon. Longer reach and such)
"My sincerest apologies then that your quest for mind carressing activities have to seize. such is sadly the life of one to your likes. You are without power without said summoning."

"Vada wouldn't have bothered to summon me were I without power," the demon says.
The creature is a quality opponent, even if his probing attacks are not striking Dio, she can find few openings to counter-attack, and for the few she does, it parries or evades the thrusts.
There is no sign of the others in her band coming to assist her in this battle.
