" NO. We rescue him, then we can go back." Lorelei turns to give Brian an odd look when he mentions Moire. " You're insane if you think I'm going to tell her about this. If the subject of Kasaba is brought up she only needs to know that there was stiff resistance." She hopes that her mother is not having this scryed... one innuendo was more than enough... " The beast took our uncle Dalt. His mother was Deela, a religious fanatic and raider and all-around pain in everyone's... backside... Bleys killed her by Oberon's order after she went much, much too far. If you believe the stories, Benedict once ran him through and he survived... While he hates Amber, he seems willing to judge each family member on their own merits." Brian laughed a bit. "Ok....We will try to find him. Only because based on what you are telling me he'd likely be the sort to hold a Grudge. " he takes a moment to redress her leg. "See Your mother wants me to keep you safe and all of that. But, no offense intended, but I'm of the opinion she made too much effort to keep you safe. So I was ok with giving you some rope. BUT" he looks at her seriously. "I am responsible for keeping you safe. So don't take to much rope from me on this ok? I'd rather your mother not hang me with it."
Once her leg wound is retouched I try to tune in to Dalt via the pattern. He remember something Annie mentioned to him. The Pattern , things like what was in the Machine of Ayalos, and the Logrus....they are all intelligences and aware. He ponders if these events are strung togther to lead he and Lor to a certain pathway. He returns his attention to finding Dalt...his Uncle? Father? Brother? Who knows. Trying to find this out was supposed to be simple. But the Tuath of Kolvir make nothing simple.

"I need to conserve as much strength as I can so that I can use a healing magic when we have him back," Lorelei informs Brian. "That means transportation and armaments are up to you... If I have to be honest with myself, the tracking also. Once we have something, I could drive so that you are not distracted or having to split your attention..." .

I nod to her and hand her a sub machine gun. If I find a Jeep we can repurpose to find Dalt with we do that.

Lorelei keeps her eyes open and moves as quick as she can. The fog won't last much longer. Her efforts are more tactical than anything else. Either by Pattern or by luck, anything else they have to work with is up to Brian... .

Lor has a gun, Bri has a jeep, and as they tear through the dark Kasaba streets, the headlights follow a trail of blood and ichor. Brian can sense the pull of Dalt, but the path leads away, out into shadow.
Lor slams on the breaks to avoid hitting the beast which lays across the street. Dead, and it isn't too difficult to see how; its gigantic jaws have been bent back, ripping the thing's head in half. A trail of blood leads off a short distance then stops. Dalt is nowhere to be seen, but he seems to have spilled a few trump cards onto the cobblestones while crawling away.
At this time the city's air raid sirens start to go off. In the false dawn of morning spotlights light up the sky and anti-aircraft guns begin to fire. From Brian and Lor's position, they can't see any of the Yankee bombers but the Germans are firing a huge amount of ordinance into the sky. Either they have plenty to spare and no need to conserve it, or it is panic firing. The two judge it to be panic.

"Lets try to find him so we can get back to the rest." Brian didn't want to drop out of Kasba proper till he got Shelly back to Dorian. he look to Lor "Do you think he used one of these to get some one to pull him to safety? If he did we need to go back and quickly. "
OOC: What cards were dropped? OOC: Do I think he is still in this shadow or at least was when I pulled in? And is the time from Kasba proper different?

I assumed you didn't actually leave Kasaba but just ventured into the misty parts of its limits. The beast is in Kasaba.
Witing for Lor before continuing with cards.

[[OOC: Sorry, had a game on Discord and hard-crashed right after... sleep eventually wins...]]
"It could takes days to catch up to him with Shadow-travel," Lorelei practically groans.
Looking back into the city, she really doesn't like the air-raid sirens and anti-aircraft fire. "Nice of the Germans to show us where they are. That is where the Yanks will concentrate their bombing runs... They remove most of the return fire and have a much easier time with the rest of the city." That is a massive over-simplification of the situation, but it is not where Lorelei is focused right now.
Turning back to Brian, she says, "See who is on the Trumps. If Dalt does not have one of himself in that stack, someone in the stack is bound to have one of him, I hope... We also need to see if the tunnels extend this far so we can get off the streets." .

I sigh and lead Lor to a structure that looks hardened enough to provide some defense from the explosions. Then we hunker down. Some place like a church or hospital where the ' Yanks' wont bomb.

[OOC: No problem, Lor! Besides, we are posting here almost every day while other games might only happen once a week or less, so they should get full attention when they are running. And there's no attendance record being kept here.]
Planes begin to appear in the searchlights; some are hit by the anti-aircraft fire and leave burning trails across the sky as they crash among the buildings. One lands a street away from Lorelei and Brian, and the area is lit from the explosion. The bombing is striking targets on the city's periphery, and they can see the flashes and fires.
The nearest shelter is a mosque. Inside, lights are out like all the buildings in the city, and they can see others hiding inside, terrified of the two intruders.
Brian hears some chatter on his radio from his mercs.
"The party's started, boss. Is it time for us to deliver our presents?"

Its not much but some rations that might help them. I slide it across the floor to the others and review the Cards I picked up from Dalt's escape. Maybe he has one of Hammett and MAYBE I can figure out how to use one of these while bombs and things are dropping.
OOC:
Also is the Mosque more cult of the Unicorn inspired?

Oops, double post when I did an edit of my last. Maybe you can respond to that if you want.
The people look grateful for the food. But it is too dark to see the cards, and there is a risk of having lights on unless there is a basement or convenient catacomb under the building. It is a Muslim mosque, but probably different from our world. There's no time to investigate further.

I check to see if there is a Catacomb access to the Mosque. I mutter a bit and turn to Lor. "Can you see the Cards in the dark or do I need to get us someplace else to do that?"

The people see them searching and direct the pair towards a winding stairway leading deep underground where it connects to Brian's tunnel system. A few low-watt bulbs provide a dim light. The people close and bar the door behind Lor and Brian.
They see two cards both depicting women. One has pale skin, long straight dark hair. She wears blue jeans and a black blouse. Holds a blue mask in one hand, and a bloody dagger and a small trident, or prong, or fork in the other. A thin silver chain wraps around her headband a small silver pentagram hangs from it centred on her forehead. Her expression is of someone who has just thought of a brilliant witticism and is unwilling to share it with the painter. Behind her are green hills and a portion of a bridge span. Brian recognizes it as the Bay Bridge in San Francisco.
The other woman has russet-coloured hair, a bit more colour in her cheeks, wears an orange, red, and brown gown. In one gloved hand a small fire demon dances, in the other lightning arcs between splayed fingers. She looks with contempt into the eyes of the viewer. Behind her is the stonework of a medieval wall. A small stand beside her has a bowl containing a pile of exotic fruits.
