Lorelei eases into the back of the group as Eivor passes, Lorelei's hooded black cloak shedding the rain while mostly hiding the silvery scale armor. She feels the veils shift around them as the group begins moving the short distance through Shadow. Briefly she offers a supporting arm or helping hand to the people as needed while she works her way toward the front where Eivor is manipulating shadow-stuff and opening the path for the others.
When Eivor indicates they have reached their destination, Lorelei unobtrusively steps up beside Eivor giving her a moment to recognize Lorelei's presence before she softly speaks. "This is a noble act, cousin. It has given these people what they need while taking some potential steam out of the riot."
"Still, I don't believe the root of that problem is entirely natural. It has me... concerned... for the safety of those who arrived by ship with us. Under these volatile conditions, I would trust the direct use of my lesser Pattern even less than I normally do. I wanted to speak with your friend, Katerina, but instead found and thus followed you. I have tried reaching her through her magical mirror-cloak, but that channel is currently barred. It was my hope that you might know where she is..." .

"She was nearby, heading for the DelAmbre's apartments in the city," Eivor says, not pausing in her walk and still manipulating Shadow to see that her followers get what they need. She doesn't want to tarry too long, eager to get back to Deiga.
"The problem is not natural, of that I can assure you. This is well-planned sabotage, to frustrate our attempts to find Coy and his co-conspirators and undermine Deiga's government. I suggest you head back there at once; she will have need of your help. I will return as soon as I am able."

Lorelei replies with a nod and starts back. Normally she would have been restricted to a well established path or been forced to use her Broken Pattern. This group, while not especially large, has just tread the path Eivor opened. The path would not last long without repeat usage to wear it in, or having a powerful Pattern user burn it in. Lorelei was fortunate in that she only had to retrace the path before the marks of passage faded and it was a very short path through Shadow.
Back in Deiga the storm is still going strong. With luck, it will blow itself out by morning. Lorelei has to ask a couple of times to get directions to the Delambre apartments. With the directions, she is making good speed until she reaches a knot of rioters who are trying to force their way into a house but are being repulsed by someone by someone with a blade... On a hunch she calls out, "Katerina!!!" .

[OOC: Sorry, I just remembered that I didn't update anything for Eivor yesterday.]
The people are happy to see the wagons of food available. They quickly descend upon it eating, the trying to horde what they can in their clothes. Some try to claim the wagons for themselves and charge money or barter for others to eat. Fights break out among them. Others form gangs and claim the carts, fighting others with clubs they make from bits of wood found on the trail. The group quickly descends into a riot, an all-out pitched battle over the need to possess the over-abundant food. Deigans will never learn.

[OOC: Probs worked out ok since events in Deiga are moving at a fast pace than Eivor is.] "Enough!" Eivor bellows. "There is enough for all and still you squabble? Perhaps I should leave you here to fend for yourselves? If you wish to return to your homes, I expect order. There will be order!" Eivor waits to see if they will comply, still holding the Great Spear. "You chose to follow me because of the promise of plenty. Even this will not be enough if you do not choose to be better. If you cannot share, if you cannot find it within yourself to help your fellow citizens rather than fighting for every scrap there is no hope for you."

"But Lady Eivor, this is only right and proper," a man says. He wears fine clothes and holds himself aristocratically. "It is natural that those of us from the higher station in society control production and distribution of goods. The regular rabble can't be trusted to take care of important matters on their own. As a member of Amber's royal family you surely understand the need for, and the justice of, those who are born to rule."
Looking over the crow she can see that those who have commandeered the carts are all dressed as nobles, along with commoner lackeys. The people who are putting up the greater fight, with clubs covered in blood and hair, are common folk.

"Those who retain their wits, follow," Eivor says. "When we return, go back to your houses and stay there. If I find you on the streets again this day, you will perish."
She returns them back to Deiga, her heart heavy. Along the way she is joined by a few followers, dressed much as she is, armed and dangerous-looking. They say nothing, just shepherding the group with grunts and gestures so no more stray from the path.

Some of the people are dead, others too injured to travel on their own, others can not be moved from the bounty they have found and fruitlessly try to sell their goods as the others walk past, some get distracted by the sights seen on the path and drop out of the line never to be seen in Deiga again. By the time they return to Deiga only about half the group is still following Eivor.
Much has happened since they left. The storm continues but sleet now as a deep bitter cold has fallen across the city. The palace is in flames and the plaza is littered with dead and wounded; some guards and ministers but mostly made up of common folk.

Eivor stops outside the city walls and repeats her instruction for her followers to return to their homes, before telling her warriors to make camp. She enters the city alone, heading for the palace to check if any of the ministers are still holed up in there and require assistance.

The people trudge off into the city.
Eivor finds little resistance to returning to the palace - other than a glacier that has filled a few city blocks requiring her to retrace her path out of the ward she was cutting through and on to a different route altogether. The locals she sees in the streets stagger about listlessly having lost all the passion of the earlier uprising.
The palace burns hot and fully. There is no safe way in and attempting to do so could only lead to her death.

Eivor again laments the state of Deiga and the need to clear up after Coy. Stretching out her wings, she leaps into the air and soars briefly over the building looking for signs of life before shifting Shadow, seeking a fast-time land bursting with avian life she can call to. Pelicans in particular, who were adept at carrying water in their throat pouch or gular. Having summoned enough of them to help, she shifts back to Deiga and instructs them to dump water over the palace to douse the fire. As soon as the fire is under control she begins to search for survivors.

It takes the rest of the night for the birds to douse the flames. Sifting through the ruins, she can find no survivors. Maybe she is surprised to find evidence of tunnels and catacombs underneath the building even though Pardo insisted that such structures did not exist in the building.
The rains end with the dawn leaving the city a sodden mess, and a thick, oily smog hangs overall. The glacier melts, causing torrents of water to rush down the streets towards the bay. Cats, dogs, rats, and an occasional person are seen caught up in a rush along with dead sea creatures not native to Deiga's oceans. Some of these creatures look edible, and some of the city's denizens have placed nets across the streets, hoping to catch a meal or two. Animals and people lodged in the net are rudely tossed over to continue their slide down to the harbour.
Eivor recognizes none of the ministers and lords she met yesterday in the crowd. Of the dead in the plaza, all their possessions were stripped by looters in the night.
A hush lays over the city but also with a feeling of suspense and tension, indicating more trouble and rioting to come.

Eivor quietly despairs, wondering if her aunt and uncle are still sitting in a cellar somewhere sipping wine oblivious to the destruction around them. She entertains the small hope that some of the ministers used the tunnels to escape the cataclysm, but isn't ready to find out yet. Instead she tries to find the house that Kat was heading to, in the hope that she somehow managed to survive.
