Eivor cocks her head and listens, still peeling strips of wood from the slat in her hand. Provided voices weren't raised in anger, there was no need to go rushing to greet the princess. She was not her protector, and Katerina would have to learn to stand on her own two feet. She would arrive when she was ready, likely horrified at the state of the ship. No doubt a little different to whatever gilded galleys they had in Eshera, she thought with a wry smile.

Whittling is interrupted by the sound of the city in panic. Yells of "Demons! Invaders from beneath the sea!" is loud in her small cabin.

Eivor sighs, sets aside her tools and goes up on deck to see what the commotion was about, and whether Kat was likely to get herself mixed up in it.

Eivor sees two people emerging from the water, striding up onto the shore towards where the harbour guards have set up a line of defence. One of the people is a giant carrying a trident and is wearing a Rebman guard uniform. With him is a regular-sized woman who must be her cousin Lorelei.

Eivor drums her fingers on the guard rail. Imposing though the guard is, they were obviously Rebman. Unless relations with the UnderSea realm had significantly deteriorated (and Llewella's presence in the castle rather suggested they had not) there was no excuse for all this panic. The manner of her arrival may be a little unconventional, but when did Rebmans ever abide with convention?
"Is this how you greet my royal cousin?" Eivor bellows, her voice carrying impressively across the harbour. "Send word to the castle of the arrival of our guest."
She waits to see if they comply before deciding if this matter needs her personal attention.

The guard captain gives Eivor a wave then speaks with Lorelei. The guards stand down to let the woman pass.
[OOC: see Kat's thread for a discussion she started.]
