“That is very wise. While looking for the errant Lady I will keep my eyes and ears open to see if there are any hints of those enemies.”

“By your command.” He bows again, picks up his saddlebags and leaves. Closing the door quietly behind himself.
“So? Are you to report to the execution grounds?” Kai says with obviously false bravado.
“No. She seemed to appreciate the difficulties of the situation of Eshanta and was more concerned with gaining what information I could provide. Come.”
Xu Liang begins walking briskly to his quarters. “She has given me several tasks though. Only one of which will be easy.”
“Oh? She gave you an easy task. She must really like you.”
When he reaches his rooms he rings for a servant while checking the room to see if it has been disturbed. He unlocks his trunk and places the saddle bags in it.
As he unbelting his fan sheath and leaning it on the trunk a soft knock comes from the door. “Come in.”
“You rang my Lord?”
“Yes. The Regent has given me several tasks to complete and some assistance will be required to complete them all in a timely manner.”
“The most urgent would be to arrange a meeting between the artist Dante and myself in a suitable venue for him to work on a commission for the Regent. Say for…” he looks at the window and notes it is about lunch time, “sometime in the second half of the afternoon?”
“The next task is to send a messenger to Prince Caldera and see if he would have time to have tea with me tomorrow. Alternately, if he would like to join me for my morning sparring, I would be greatly honoured to have such a skilled partner to practice with.”
“Next on the priority list is to have a suitable tailor or seamstress come and create an apt wardrobe for me.” He opens his wardrobe where he hung his few garments. “They can use these as a basis for my taste in clothes, and perhaps we could set some time aside for a quick fitting. This afternoon or tomorrow.”
He pauses here, “Staff in the castle are stretched thin, but if a secretary could be spared for a week to coordinate my correspondence and appointments that would be greatly appreciated. It might save the pages lots of time searching for me if they could just deliver messages to a central person.”
“I understand. I will speak with the Steward and see what can be done. Will there be anything else?”
“Just to come back and let me know where and when those three appointments are set.”

Messages are sent. Appointments with Dante and the tailor are made. Calvera has also left the city, and his whereabouts are unknown.
"Apologies, Lord. Assignation of staff is Lady Maeve's duty, and with her gone, there will be a small delay in finding someone suitable," he is told almost as a challenge by the servant to be more conscientious in his duties than Maeve has been.

“Completely understandable. Hopefully she will return soon and realize what an important role she has to play in the smooth running of the kingdom. Until then perhaps a paper on the door as to where I have gone will assist all of you.”
Xu Liang then cleans himself up as best he can and then goes to meet Dante. (OOC - We can role play that when Dante returns! I will jump over to Ovid’s thread now.)
