"I would love to take on new crew. And cousin, I have an errand to run in shadow. There will be no piracy from now on. I will return to punch Rinaldo in the face, if the question does come up from Aunt Flora."
Dirk keeps a smile on his face.

Dio & Maeve:
The seas are disturbed as all places are near Amber. Their swimming is slow and difficult due to their need to stay on the path.

Dirk works to prepare his ship for sailing. He accepts new crew and his old. If he knows any of the new crew he welcomes them warmly.
As soon as he can he tries to sail to the north to find Dio and Maeve.

Harbour guards escort the new crew to Dirk's ship. Six of the new crew are in manacles which are unlatched on the dock, and the prisoners are forced onto the ship with pikes at their backs.
Treacherous currents and winds plague Dirk's sailing north but with time, he reaches the place indicated on the map.

Dio assists Maeve. Since Maeve does keep them on track Dio will work hard to keep them floating and going letting Maeve steer and focus on the path.

Dirk treats his new crew with respect and fights hard to stay the course as he and his ship travel north. On the journey he privately asks each manacled man what had happened.
He waits to hear the story of each man before passing judgement.
He keeps a cautious eye out for any threats to his crew.

Maeve and Dio come to the end of the first shadow path. They float in a purple sea offshore from orange trees. Strange snakes slither in the branches, and some swim in the sea near the women. The path branches off here onto three new routes. Unfortunately, without a nautical map to use for navigation, they will be unable to take the correct path. Well, only a 33% chance of taking the correct path.

The former prisoners say they were still loyal to Admiral Caine, and they were thrown in the brig for their disrespect.
Winds lash, tides are treacherous, currents contrary, shoals omnipresent, as the ship slowly works its way along the coast. Not the best conditions to train a new crew in. A sea dragon sticks its head above the waves and looks at their passing with amusement.
After a couple of days spent fighting the elements, they reach the first marked location on the map. Surprisingly, the sea is calmer here than at anytime else on this journey, and a few of the crew who'd suffered from violent seasickness recover as the map is checked.

Maeve watches the snakes and takes human form. "I think we should wait her for Dirk. Let us fetch something to wear and some knifes or daggers."

Dio follows Maeve's example and changes back in her human form. She keeps her feet webbed like fins to swim faster to the shore.
"Let's get to land then and start pulling things to us. I will fetch with the Logrus some tunics for us? Do you have a prefered color?"

"Okay I fetch the daggers. No nothing special for the clothing." Maeve swims at Dio's side to the shore.

Dirk sails to the three way junction of shadow path and waits to see if Dio and Maeve are there yet.
Dirk assures his crew that their loyalty to his father is much appreciated and respected.
