Cody looks at the various doors opening and closing like demonic mouths waiting to masticate anyone that dares to get too close. He's been trying to live a normal life outside the Courts while visiting Station. It was only the urgency of the moment that Cody used the Power of the Abyss to incapacitate the Robbers while his crewmates turned away from the explosion. Committing to fighting the terrorists means revealing some of his Powers to his team.
"We need to disable some of these doors so they don't trap us, or worse. I know we can disable them a few different ways but I've got a way of doing it quickly. And later I'll tell you a little story when we're done here. Just don't look directly at what I'm doing. I mean you can look. Just don't stare."
Cody opens a small rift and reaches through it. A plasma arch flares out the other side and cuts apart the door ahead of them and the ones to the left.

Kicking down doors and making their way into a maze of holo-pods. Brian pauses for a moment and slashes into the wall with his sword.
"Cody." He calls out as the walls of the Holo-Arcade seem to be ran by Bio-Computers....
Or possibly brains? Hopefully it isn't brains?

Cody laughs at Brian's apparent revulsion. "Bio-Net. Why try to beat mother nature at quantum computing? There's no hypothalamus to get messy emotions and some other built in delimiters to block true sentience."
"Oooh... Maybe that's what our trouble makers are after... They're trying to liberate an idiot, thinking it's sentient."

"So....no chance this is an actual brain somewhere?" I glance curiously at Cody

Eugenia looks at the exposed Bio-Net, "There isn't ~supposed~ to be any actual 'brain'..."
Jessup pokes her fingers into the exposed circuitry, "Could be something... Could be nothing. Creating a brain isn't the worst thing. On its own. It depends on what you teach it. What it learns. Its environment..."
"If it's truly sentient, it can be reasoned with."
Cody considers this. "Only one way to find out."
"Hello. Computer? Arcade Control?"
"Sorry for the intrusion. Our, uh, somewhat violent entrance into your sanctum. There are some people. Humans. Who have lead us here to you in a manner that has made us fearful. That you may be damaged or compromised in a way that may harm us. Before there is any more violence, let us understand: What are your instructions? How can we help you?"

> Shall we play a game? > Activate neural scan of all players to determine game parameters > Safety level is set to eπ√n > Error, safely set to non real number > Error > Protocol: Invasion of Castle Amber activated > Error: Castle Amber unknown
Brian looked at Cody "That......That seems bad."

Cody confirms, "Not good at all. For multiple reasons. Especially since Castle Amber isn't generally known of around"
Cody doesn't get to finish his sentence when Gene interrupts, "Castle Amber? Flack Cody! Have you been living in a cave? It's the newest sim rager. It's in all the Arcades."
Cody is stunned. Admittedly, he doesn't spend much time in Arcades. It's a rather nefarious coincidence though.
Cody looks at Brian and with a wink, "Well you want to visit Kolvir. Here's your chance."
Jessup has already picked up a set of neural scanners. "Let's tear the old dump down!"

As the game starts, the "players" finds themselves standing in front of the grand castle gates, with the castle towers rising high above them. The gates slowly open and the player is greeted with the sight of the castle courtyard and the bustling activity of an impossibly large city. The city is also impossibly diverse. While most Non Playable Characters fit a human template....some are alien sorts of beings.
a Griffin sits before the 'Players"
"Hello" it says with a playful tone "The Developer of Castle Amber: Mandrine Holographics does not recommend using a....." [ ERROR NO END SET DETECTED] "...level difficulty. This difficulty exceeds the highest level of 99. Mandrine Holographics states it accepts no responsibility for the game being played in a Jailbroken manner."

<OOC> Mandrine eh? Like Mandarin? Like, perhaps as in Mizzurian? LOL! </OOC>
In an equally playful tone Cody replies, "Hello Grif, we accept this challenge." Game ready, cody begins to hum a tune, the girls recognise the tune and begin to sing along.

"We thank you player for legally indemnifying the corporation from any harm." The Griffen says before vanishing
As that happens the door to the walls of Amber close and a rain of Artillery shells pelt and pummel the courtyard.
I turn to Hal "Why didn't you notice that?" The bird pauses for a moment and looks around. Hal laughs softly "Oh the machine doesn't recognize me as sentient."

Cody shouts, "Take cover!" Over the sudden cacophony of the shelling as he shoves the girls into a nearby alcove in the wall.
Eugenia looks at Hal, "Hey bird. We haven't been properly introduced. I'm Gene. We can use your help here, for sure. If the machine doesn't acknowledge you, then you are our secret weapon."
"Good thunkin' Genie! Hello you big beautiful bird, I'm Captain Jessup." She interjects.

Hal cocked an eyebrow and looked back at Brian.
I turn to Cody "My wife will kill me if I blow up her favorite bird."

"Monogamy? How archaic."
"Keep it in your pants, Gene! Jessup looks at Hal. "It's your tail feathers Mr. Bird. But now that we're sealed into this pod you might want to help us get back out."
Cody, "I'm not much of a tactician in situations like this. What's your plan Brian? If you're in, Hal, you can do some reconnaissance. I'm not sure what's happening here. Are we supposed to be invaders or defenders?"

The bird looked at Brian as he took a feather and put it in the fire. The fire doesn't burn it.
"Huh.....the settings don't apply to nonsentients. Hal can you scout."
The bird nodded and flew up.
I turn to Cody "I don't suppose this castle has air strike options?"

Cody knows his crewmates are tough but he's puzzled by how unfazed they appear to be in this situation. No time to question them at the moment but when he gets to explaining his new powers and how he knows Brian, he'll have to ask them about it.
Then it strikes him. Cody wasn't born and raised on any random Shadow. This is his M-unit's Shadow.
Feeling at ease Cody feels free to talk about his Amber without worrying about freaking out the crew.
"Well, I was only in Castle Amber for a few days when I was still a kid. I spent most of my time locked up in M-unit's chambers, so I really don't know much about the place. The Black Road came very close and the Chaos Armies were attacking. It wasn't safe for a kid to be wandering around."
