"You honour me, sir. I like you too."
Cody unfastens a very fine black chain with a small medallion on it from around his neck and gives it to Brian. The medallion has the eight-rayed arrows of Undivided Chaos, with the Serpent woven between the branches on one side and on the other is stamped 'Sheltering Coils Temple and Mission House'.
"It's not silver, but it will get you a meal, a bed and a blessing at the Mission House if you are ever in the Courts."
Cody was able to collect a number of battle-bloodied-bayonettes and a few other items and pack them into his sporran.
"This is a pretty good haul for a turnings trouble."
Cody fits the coin into a locket on a heavier black chain around his neck. The locket is of the same black metal on the back and clear crystal on the front. It contains a bit of blood soaked fabric that is embroidered with white hair, 'Dionisia'.

Cody looks up and sees the black slash across the sky has begun to shrink.
He points up and says, "I think I need to be going. If I ever find myself in Ayalos I'll pay you and your good wife a visit. Or Amber."
Cody spreads his wings and bounds skyward. Not to be forgotten, he calls, "So long Wolfram, happy skies Hal..." As he darts into the black slash and is gone.

ANOTHER YULE OCCURS:
The Plays the thing.
Brian is on his Journey to Amber and as he approaches Amber he comes upon an unusual Shadow along the road. His Journey began on Yule in Ayalos. At the end of his great celebration.
The shadow has the flavor of the late 19th century. The folk of this shadow have the appearance of Daeva's, Asura's, and Djinn. They don't have any extraordinary talents to speak of. They are hearty by the nature of Shadow Folk.
Other then the unusual aesthetic quality of the Shadow Folk whats known about it......they have Theater. And whats even more unusual the Plays here feature Amberites. This is not to say that other beings don't feature in their plays....but Amberites feature as characters.
Rumors even speak that players based on the works of Corwin and Bleys feature here. Brian finds himself in the heart of the theater district.
"Shadows lie for us" but if plays featuring Amberites are common here......KNOWING the lies can help you sort out the Truth. Brian decides to take a moment to catch a play

As the second act of the play is reaching its climax a battle rages on the stage. In the orchestra pit sheets of metal are being rattled and banged to simulate the thunder of a terrible storm. Flairs of faux lightning burst from above the apron. Lots of metal clanking as of swords clashing and armour being struck.
All of the sudden there's a crash that doesn't sound so theatrical as the wall stage left is breached. Plaster and lathe shower the orchestra pit and the patrons in the first few rows. As the dust clears a bit the audience sees a winged beast grappling with a hideous spider-like creature.
The beast is twisting the head off of the arachniform creature. It's fangs impaling the arm of the beast.
A sickening crack and pop are heard as the head of the arachniform seperates from its body which spasms and goes limp. Then, succumbing to the venom, the beast also goes limp.
All of the performers fall over each other as they evacuate the stage.
The horrified audience, thinking that this is a part of the play erupt into applause as the curtain falls

" Well." Brian pulls some flowers " I suppose I need to go back stage then. As some legs seem to be broken."
Brian goes to inspect the creatures who fell in battle

On stage behind the curtain there's a group of stage hands standing around the two combatants that crashed through the wall and abruptly ended the second act.
The arachniform creature definitely appears to be dead. It's smoldering carcass is slowly turning to ash.
The other beast is mostly humanoid with moth-like wings. It wears a sporran around its waste and a locket on a heavy chain around its neck.
It's still breathing raggedly.

I look at the beast with Moth Wings and a locket. " You look like hell. Let's get you up and out of here before some one takes offense of you killing the second act."

Brian easily hefts Cody over his shoulder and carries Cody's limp form off the stage.
One of the stage hands hears Brian and replies, Are you kidding me? Listen to those applause. The audience loved it! Do you think that you can revive him in time for the third act?" He gushes as he leads Brian to a dressing room.
Brian puts Cody down on a divan and takes a cold compress from one of the other actors. A turquoise fluid oozes out of the wounds on Cody's arm as his body rejects and pushes out the venom. One of the actresses faints at the sight.

Brian gets a med kit and starts to work on Cody's wound.
" Was that a happy accident or us some one trying to kill you? Since your falling in foiled their retelling of the death of Prince Caine....it would stand to reason it might be an assassination attempt for you."

Cody is regaining consciousness as his body slightly shifts back to a more human form. Opening his eyes he appears surprised.
"Oh! Hey Brian. What are you doing here?"
It takes another minute or two before Cody has a slight grasp on what Brian is saying.
"What assassination? The last thing I remember is fighting an arachniform in the Pit. Seems it didn't like me collecting some of its old silk." Like saying 'just a regular day at the office. "So, what are you doing here?"
"Erm, where is here?"

I laugh. " Well...then its just a coincidence. "
I waive my hand. " This place does Plays about the Tuath..." I pause " The royal household of Amber. I set down to see the plays on my way to Kolvir."

<OOC> The theater. The theater. What's happened to the theater... </OOC>
Cody is moving his mouth and tongue. "Ugh! That venom really leaves a nasty metalic taste in your mouth. I don't recommend it. At all..."
Oh, taking in the local art scene. That's neat."
The back stage manager is rounding up some of the actors shouting for them to take their places for the third act.
"Oh, your going to miss the finale." Thinking that it's odd that Brian says that he's on his way to ~Kolvir~ as opposed to saying 'Amber'.
"Coincidence? The multiverse moves in mysterious ways. That's for sure."
"Does this place have a snack bar? I'm starving."
Apparently, one of the actors overheard Brian. "Kolvir? You're actually going to Amber?"

Brian laughs at the actor "Isn't that why we're all here?"
I lead Cody out to the seats. I bribe the stage manager so the lack of a ticket isn't a problem.
Luckily this theater has food.
" The play is about a Lady Serenity of Amber...." Brian says "A daughter of Bleys. Her story about them she offers as a palate cleanser to the story of Merlin. " Brian sips his brandy " " The folks here normally want this play before Merlin's story. This is apparently a popular theme in the upper-class theaters here. Corwin and Merlin are unbelievable tale tellers. so they 'Invent' different sons and daughters of Amber to help recontextualize them. And the legend is the first great playwright here was a Son of Corwin. He decided to find a place where Plays could be used as a source of divination."
Brian laughs softly "Now if we want to go to the more....BASE theaters. We can watch lots of plays about the sexual improprieties of the lords and ladies of Amber. Lots of satirical work. I even here several of the patrons here that there is a play about Bleys by Bleys there."
