With the balls being the thickness of 10 pennies, Ryland thinks they are more like gun slugs, and not accidental. And wonders if the stab wounds were made to cover them. Or, if someone wanted to remove them for some reason.
he will use his medical tools to take one out, quickly.
He looks to Sand to see if she will answer about medical facilities, or if they should gather everything and leave.

as disgusting as the scene is...Edward moves to watch Ryland "inspect" the body.
Pulling a handkerchief out of his sleeve, he covers his nose in a way to attempt to cover the smell. "I had heard that some technologies and flammable powders do not work in Amber? If they don't, then is there any evidence on where this body came from?"
He keeps to himself about technologies and Dalt.
"Aunt Salt, I am not familiar with Kashfa, but is it in the same type of chronological stasis as Amber?"

Brian's raven gives the corvid version of a shrug.
"Looks dee-ee-dee to me," it says.
Ravens have never been good at spelling.
Ryland pulls the sphere out of Dal's sternum. Under the blood and gore, it is silver.

#s://i~ibb~co/w0Rp6DX/sand~png "With the state Dalt is in, I highly doubt there is any need for any sort of medical facilities. Although I would like him moved before even more of his blood contaminates my pond. An adequate table can be found within the building if you strong boys want to carry him there.
"These things though," she taps at one of the jars with her staff. "They are a mix of high technology and magic. I will need to take them somewhere else to determine their importance."She nods to Edward's questions. "Yes, nothing much works in Amber. It makes me wonder why the family is s interested in staying in a place lacking the amenities found elsewhere. Corwin's gunpowder has made a slight improvement, but not enough to upgrade the inadequate plumbing."She shudders at the memory of life in the castle. "Kashfa is in the same condition as Amber. These projectiles probably came from elsewhere."

I turn to Ryland " so take them to a proper lab somewhere?" Turning my Attention to Hal " just think without you I might end up like Dalt here."

"As far as getting rid of the body. Would it be okay to dispose of it here in this shadow? Or would you prefer to have it taken to some other shadow for disposal?"
Edward makes his way over to the body and looks around. "I don't suppose you have any sheets, drapes, or perhaps a carpet we could roll him up in for easier containment and handling?"
and he looks over to Ryland and Brian. "I would love to have one of you two gents help me with this. I can't do this alone." as he waits for a means to contain the body for disposal.

#s://i~ibb~co/w0Rp6DX/sand~png "Bury here if you wish. Maybe he would have preferred to be immolated on a pyre. Or return him to Amber and celebrate the death of their great foe."She untangles the tubes, wires, and containers from Dalt's corpse. "Heave him up boys and follow me."She carries the stuff while the others follow. From the garden, she walks along the peristyle to a room empty except for a Dalt-sized table. "Place him on there. Ryland, you will find a variety of medical tools in the drawers. Inform me when you're investigations are complete."

I move Dalt to where he remains. I look to Ryland "I'd assist you with anything magical."

Ryland does a deeper cursory autopsy. He avoids anything that would require him to cut parts of Dalt out. He removes a few more of the balls.
Rummaging through all of Dalt’s belongings, he looks for things that may have been important to Dalt.
Inviting Brian, and Edward to join him with the magic he: sits down in the Lotus Position and intunes himself to the local magic of this Shadow. Once he has centered himself to the local magic, he proceeds.
Taking some charcoal from a fire pit, he marks out runes and circles around the table. He chants in Thari for about an hour and casts Body-Reading. As Ryland opens his eyes, he gets a magical x-ray of Dalt’s body. Moving slowly around the body Ryland note anything out of the ordinary: ruptured organs, missing part, broken bones, and anything that has been added to the body. Ryland turns the body over and reviews the other side too.
Next, he adds a poison glyph and chants a Detect Poison Spell which takes him another hour.
Ryland slowly and methodically chants out an Aura Spell to see if there is any residual magic on the body, or any of Dalt’s aura remains, or any lingering magic is haunting the body.
On the silver balls, Ryland makes a small circle for them and inscribes runes within. This spell takes him the longest because he has to call upon the local magic as well as general magic from shadow. He chants out the spells of History, going back a month. He gathers information on how the item was used, who owned it, who used it, and anything interesting that happened to it within the last moth.
Ryland gets a pale of water and washes away all the circles, gylphs, and sigils. Waiting until nightfall, he starts drawing again. These are the most complex rituals yet. From his spell component bag, he takes a measure of salt and places it. He gathers seven candles, lights them, and places seven of them in the pattern. Using Dalt’s dagger as a personal item, he places it down into the prepared space. Finally, he takes a measure of Dalt’s blood, which he lets drip into the center. The ritual he chants is long and complex. At midnight he finishes the Death Vision Spell and calls for the corpse to show him the fight that killed Dalt.
After nearly eight hours of casting Ryland is tired. He sits down with Edward, Brian, and Sand to review what he found.

I follow along with the magic Ryland casts. Once that's completed Brian begins to work on the items Dalt brought with him.
The spell has a component of song to it.
In Thari he sings
~
In the sunken city of Murias, Deep, deep beneath the sea The Image sits and hears Time break The heart I gave to thee And thou to me, In the city of Murias.
In the city of Murias, Long, oh, so long ago, Our souls were wed when the world was young; Are we old now, that we know This silent woe In the city of Murias? In the sunken city of Murias A graven Image dwells: The sound of our little sobbing prayer Is as muffled bells Where He dwells, In the city of Murias.~
He pulls the magic of the world and feels the connections between the items Dalt was carrying. To feel the energy connecting them. To see if the energy still holds life. To feel if the magic between the collections connect to each other. If they hold life that can be restored to fruition
OOC:
>> He carries a strange collection of boxes, jars, tubes and cables over his one remaining shoulder. <<
I assemble the boxes, Jars, and tubes with care before I cast the spell. The spell tries to feel the connections between the boxes/jars.....and how the cables and tubes connect them to each other. To see if whats inside the collections are alive. If its injured does it seem like something that could be brought back to being alive

As interesting as the Magical autopsy is on a dead relative, Edward is more keen on seeing what his cousin's are doing. His inexperience with magic in this setting allows him to see what extent it can be capitalized and utilized on.
he mutters to himself "I should have been made aware a long time ago..."
still, he watches with enthusiasm. Both with the magic and the results they obtain.
"utterly fascinating"

[OOC: Ry wouldn't need the Aura spell, as sorcery includes the magic sight function which will reveal shadow magic. I'd also assume anyone can use local magic with a little work, but the shadow magic powerful sorcerers use is greater than local so there is no need to distinguish between them when casting.]
The cuts and punctures on Dalt look to have been done by weapons, there are no signs of bit marks. A few have enough bruising around them to possibly have been falling or striking a large object before the cut, like stone or metal debris. The burns have a magical aura on them so must have come from an unsubtle use of magic power. The spheres have the faintest of magical glows on them but their history doesn't reveal anything. The death vision spell also does not provide any information.
The spheres do have a design punched into each, though none of the three have ever seen it before and have no idea of what it symbolizes. It is a rough outline of a manticore.
Sand does not appear to be in residence when they look for her.
